Question about Mitsubishi WD-52725 52". Rear Projection HDTV
Changed lamp now red status light blinks .. troubleshooter at dlplampsguide says problem is fan not detected .. Is threre a common problem this TV has with that ?
It is not a common problem with this set. are you able to tell the pattern of the blinks.? is it (a)1 long 1 short, or (b) 1 long 2 short, or (c) 1 long 3 short. this will let you know which fan is blocked or has failed.a=Chassis Fan (above chassis) b=Ballast or Exhaust Fan
. exhaust fan is easy to see. ballast fan is hidden between ballast and vent tunnel.c= lamp fan, this is under the lamp. you can measure the yellow wire voltage on the suspected fan, if it is more then 1 volt the fan is bad or jammedlet me know whic one and i will post the part number

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
