Push and H O L D the power button for 10-30sec. That works on Gateways might for you too.. then you can always find and press (gently) the teeny, tiny reset button located somewhere on the bottom of the LT

Another possibility... Change the CMOS Coincell under the keyb. It might 'kick' the MB into action and cannot b/c it is dead

Continual alarms!

How many beeps do you get before they stop, beep codes can reference a number of things but you need to count them.
If it is fairly continuous try taking the battery out (while it is powered off without the charging cable plugged in), then plug the charging cable in and turn it on. If that solves it then you have a faulty battery.

If that doesn't solve it then you could have a faulty stick of RAM, your graphics card may be faulty, your hard drive may be faulty, as I say, without knowing how many beeps you have I cannot tell.
You should be able to find out by searching the beep codes for your laptop make and model
They should be the ones found here:

Iam using Lenovo G550 today system is not booting screen totally blank all Led was on but system is not booting screen totally even hardisk, posser also not responding let me know what is the exact problem

Hi and welcome to Fixya!

If the issue with your machine is just caused by a glitch, try to do power drain.
1. First shut down the machine and unplug the adapter and take out the battery.
2. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds.
3. Then put back the battery and plug back the adapter. Try to turn on the machine normally.

If this does not solve the issue, it could be caused by a problem with the motherboard. If your machine is in warranty (or even if its not), contact Lenovo warranty support on this number - 1 877 453 6686.

Hope this helps!

My Lenovo ThinkPad T61 has the indicator light that it is plugged in and that the battery is charging. The computer is also off. But every time I press the power button to turn it on the both lights go off...

Try to start the laptop without battery (remove the battery and plugh the adapter and switch on) if problem persists. Take it to the Service center , Becose your laptop motherboard may have some kinda SHORTS. best of luck

Wireless radio on Lenovo Y510 turned off even though the slider switch is switched on and lights up. How can I turn on wireless radio?

Hi There and Welcome to Fixya!

Another way to turn on the wireless radio on your Lenovo Y510 is to press and hold the "Fn" key, then simultaneously press the "F5" key.

This is an alternative way to switch the wireless antenna on or off without using the physical WIFI switch.

Hope this helps,

Thank you for using FixYa.

Lenovo Ideapad Y510 won't turn on or off

try removing the battery and removing the adaptor press and hold down the power button for 5-10 seconds then let got this will power drain your system board noy turn the system on using the battery only without any adaptors to charge or power the system, try turning the system on if the system turnes on leave it turned on for a couple of hours then conenct your sysem adaptor monitor if the battery light and the battery indicator on the lower right of the screen in windows woll indicate that the system is chargin if it is then I believe everything should be fine the blue indicator is for your system if it is blue then your system is turned on and has power if it turned orange and blnking then the battery will be more likely be almost out of juice or may need charging.

Have you installed the Lenovo EnergyCut drivers? Without it, laptop may not work properly and turns extra hot. Try letting it cool down before you try again.

The problem with your laptop is the battery itself. You said that when you plug the adapter it turns on. Here is a good troubleshooting step you can do. remove the battery and plug the adapter to your laptop, power on the laptop and check if it has the same problem and if not, that means that your battery is the one that is faulty. If the problem occurs even if the adapter is plugged. that means you need to replace the adapter. thanks.
