I can't get the drum kit to connect to PS3 either. Guitar and Mike work fine.I contacted ActiVision and they immediately offered to send out a new kit, making me believe that it is a known issue.

I've having exactly the same prob and the solutions offered below don't help. I'm stuck with a great big drum kit and no way to play it.
When I spoke to the guy at Electronics Boutique he told me where to contact for replacement, however I shouldn't hold my breath, he asked for a replacement at the end of November and he's still waiting!

GOT IT!!!!

beebe623 was right. with some extra steps. Simple steps here:
1. Unplug the drum receiver.
2. Turn off the PS3.
3. Remove batteries from the Drum Controller.
4. Plug in the Drum Receiver.
5. Put batteries back in drum revceiver.
6. Turn on PS3.
7. Hit the PS button on the Drums once. (all 4 lights should flash)
8. Push and hold down the button on the Drum Receiver for about 5 seconds, then release.
9. Push the PS button again on the Drum Controller. At this point the drums should be assigned a port and synced up.

All this is in the instructions that came with the game.

After posting that I had the same problem, I kept trying a bunch of things. Finally something worked. I turned on the PS button the drums, then held down the button on the adapter, then hit the PS button again on the drums and that time it worked. Doesn't hurt to try.

I now have a solution. I discovered that although the drums wouldn't sync with the drum peripheral, it would do it with the guitar. So I concluded that it was the wireless drum receiver that was faulty. I live in Australia, so I mailed it back to Red Octane (Reply paid) and received a new one in the mail the very next day! The drums work fine now.

I have bought guitar hero world tour for ps3 the guitar and drums work on home screen but as soon as i put the game in the intruments dont work only the microphone can you help please

You have to go to controller options, and make sure they are set to 1 and 2, if they are set up for any other port they will not work for gameplay, I found this out myself with my PS3

World tour drum pad won't respong on old ps2 console

You can repair your drums actually for pretty reasonable!
Here is a link to a video on how to repair the drums yourself,
you'll have to purchase the cable yourself, but you can find one if you search eBay for "guitar hero drum cable"

I hope this helps!

Ps3 guitar hero world tour issue

if you have aftermarket controllers that have a wireless plug (with red light) you must make sure that this is not plugged in while starting the system... it will automatically try to be player 1, no matter which slot it is in... just have one plugged in at a time until you are ready to log in the 2nd controller.

hope it helps, please rate this...thanks

Microphone for guitar hero world tour

just asked this same question.
discovered that by removing one of our wii controllers from the drum set that we could use the microphone and the guitar. Guessing that having a 3rd controller would allow for the full band to play together (guitar, drum, and vocals). Thinking that by having 4th controller, we could hook up our other microphone or another guitar.
