Hi. I have a 3 year old LG dishwasher. It will not drain. Display shows OE. I completely cleaned the drain assembly inside the DW. I checked the discharge line, it is completely clean. I disconnected the drain line from the air vent assembly at the sink and ran the DW, still will not drain. I disconnected the discharge pump wires and ran current directly, the pump works. I replaced the main control PCB, still will not drain. Please advise. Thanks

Hi Ian,
This means the water is not draining out of the dishwasher - probably the filter is clogged. Your dishwasher has a filter fitted in the drain that prevents scraps of food from entering the pipes. Please try to clean the filter, hope this is helpful.

Hi there Diane OE on your display relates to the water draining system (water is not pumped away). the diashwasher is not seeing the water drain away. Dishwashers start by draining before they take on fresh water. Start your dishwasher and listen for a pumping noise from the waste pump if you dont hear any noise it may be the pump is blocked or faulty. please advise if this helps kind regards gary.

First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. If the issue returns after cleaning then the drain pump assembly should be replaced. The most common cause of an OE error code on a modern LG dishwasher is:
1. Blocked drain hose
2. Obstruction in the sump area (beneath the filter, which needs to be removed to check for onstruction)
3. Failing drain motor.
