My Sansa e260 - I have a card that inserts into it for additional memory for more songs. I can't access the songs on the card. How do you do it? Thank you very much

First of all, make sure it's a microSD card and not a microSDHC card. If it's larger than 2GB then it won't work in the e-series. Second, make sure all the songs are in a folder named "MUSIC."

Trying to add storage space unable to add music with new mlcro sdhc 8g memory card. mp3 player says music wont fit.

The Sansa e-series works with microSD cards. While microSDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use microSD cards, 2GB and smaller.

My sansa e260 does not recongnize my 4 gig sdhc micro card...why is this?

It's because the e260 is designed to work with microSD cards, not with microSDHC cards. You need to go with microsD cards 2GB and smaller.

Is there any provison for extension of GB in this player

Videos and pictures must be on the player, and you're limited to the 4GB you have. You can put music up to 2GB on a microSD card and plug the card into the Sansa. You can put more stuff on a different card and swap them in and out. I have about 15GB worth of audiobooks on my cards, which I use this way.

Be aware that you need to use microSD cards, not microSDHC cards. You're limited to 2GB and smaller cards.

16 gig chip not recognized by my mac pc

It's not the computer, it's the Sansa. The e260 uses microSD cards, which only go up to 2GB, not microSDHC cards such as the 16GB one you have.

Hello,

For the Sansa e260 4 GB there are 2 versions for the e200 series players:
version 1 manual
version 2 manual
Check the version of your Sansa e200 series:
go to Settings > Info.

SD card compatibility:
For 01.xx.xx firmware (e200 version 1) - up to 2GB microSD cards
For 03.xx.xx firmware (e200 version 2) - up to 16GB microSDHC cards
NOTE: Firmware is not interchangeable.

I am considering purchasing a Sandisc Micro SDHC 8Gb card for my Sandisc E260 MP3 Player. Will this be OK?

Hello,

Highest capacity memory card for the e200 series depends on the firmware version.

Consulting the Sandisk page gives next information:
Sansa e200 - verify the version of the player. To check, go to Settings > Info.

For 01.xx.xx firmware (e200 version 1) - up to 2GB microSD cards
For 03.xx.xx firmware (e200 version 2) - up to 16GB microSDHC cards
NOTE: Firmware is not interchangeable.

Sansa e260

The e260 works with microSD cards. Your 4GB card is actually a microSDHC card and won't work in the Sansa.
With a microSD card, simply put music tracks into a folder called "MUSIC". When the card is installed, the Sansa will see the additional tracks.
