Ah, don't worry. Computers are really dumb, they rarely do what one wants them to do :-) Do the "regedit" thing I have just posted. It will work! And you can try downloading the latest drivers from your motherboard's manufacturers at: http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?detailid=812&DetailName=Driver&DetailDesc=&CategoryID=1&MenuID=6&LanID=0 Just download the driver under Realtek High Definition Audio Driver section. You will get the other necessary drivers from the same site too.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Sounds like youve got the Realtek soundcard software. You have got the sound effects which are built into the software turned on. You should see the Realtek sound manager icon in the bottom right taskbar just right click on that and go through all the options making sure no effects are enabled. Also right click the speaker icon then recording devices and go through all the settings there as sometimes there is also a box needed to check to disable sound effects even though it says none in the Realtek manager. I have compaq cq-60-415sl laptop. i have on it

The audio on the cq60 laptops uses Microsoft's Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) bus. Make sure the UAA bus driver is installed correctly by following the 9 steps under "How do I get UAA drivers?" on HP/Compaq's UAA support page: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00765866&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en
(Ignore the first paragraph about Realtek drivers, since your computer has the Conexant hardware.)

After UAA is working correctly, you can install the Conexant audio driver.

Some users have been able to get the driver through Windows Update- click Custom, then look for the Hardware, Optional section in the lefthand pane.

Otherwise, HP/Compaq's SoftPAQ # sp35682 seems to be the latest Conexant high-definition driver for XP:

Error message

Actually, this is a very common error with the sound card you have. Do the following: 1 - Right-Click on My Computer, and click on Properties. 2 - Go to Hardware and click on Device Manager, now go to "Sound, Video and Game Controllers". Do you see "Realtek ...." mentioned here? or Microsoft UAA? if you see either of these, just Right-Click on it and select "uninstall driver". 3 - Restart the PC, and now try installing the new driver that you downloaded.  -- Also, check whether you were given a CD when you purchased your PC.

Acer travelmate 6291 with windows xp

Hi,

The Windos XP version of Realtek Audio is here (ftp://202.65.194.212/pc/audio/WDM_A405.exe). In some instances, it may be necessary to install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio. For more information about this driver, see Microsoft Knowledge BaseArticle 888111, "Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High DefinitionAudio class driver version 1.0a

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Uaa hd audio bus driver, compac presario sr2015la

doing windows update will solve your problem ....

or might not have installed the chipset driver so first try installing that ...

if you have already installed then try reinstalling that ...

if you still persist the same problem then go for windows update this may solve your problem ..

instead of this you can download the another latest driver from the net and try installing that ..

and also check the the manufacture cd if you are installing from it for scratches on cd ...
if it is scratched some file might have got corrupted and by this your not able to install ...

and also check in the manufacture cd does it have that UAA HD AUDIO BUS DRIVER in it ...
and also check for the manufacture minimum recommended operating system for your system ...

thank you
bye

Audio driver installation failed from mother board cd

The most common solution was this: open device manager click "system devices" disable "microsoft UAA bus driver for high definition audio" uninstall "UAA bus driver" make rescan devices (Note: Not all had this step. You may want to skip it.) D.W. install realtek driver the realtek driver includes the UAA driver too.Hope this helps.
