Question about Nikon D40 Digital Camera with G-II 18-55mm Lens

1 Answer

Nikon D 40 flash pops up but does not flash.

There are no codes saying something is wrong, and if we use a add on flash it works fine.

Is the flash on Off mode? Is the battery fully charged? If not, charge the battery and try again.

THE FLASH ON MY NIKON P500 IS NOT WORKING WHEN IT IS RAISED AND I SELECT FLASH ON IT SAYS RAISE FLASH HOW I CAN THIS

To be sure something could be wrong with your camera flash, please put the camera in automatic and try making a picture in a dark situation. The flash should be pop up and fire, when the camera is in focus, and you press the shutter button fully.
Perhaps you know there are situations, the flash does not fire, even when you open it yourself. In the P, S, A and M, it only can fire if the ISO setting is on auto. Some scenes you can select, also won't fire the flash, even when you put it up.
there are more things, to shooting with flash than jute putting it up.
But when you try it like I said above you schools see a flash icon on the display for a few seconds and the flash should fire. If not, I'm afraid you must contact the Nikon service centre close by you.

success.

Err popping up on top of bar when try to take a picture flash does not come up and also when looking in it also appears inside

When a Nikon camera says Err, something is wrong with the memory card. Perhaps it is not inserted correct. Or not a card inside at all. Perhaps you can't write to the card or it should be formatted.
When you have a Err, the camera won't do a thing, to avoid the user can think he is shooting pictures and the camera won't save one.

My nikon D60 and the pop up flash dosent work

the flash pivot on the release side of the flash has a small cylinder that operates the flash up switch. If that cylinder is broken off or the pivot is pushed in so the switch doesn't close, then what you describe happens

pop up the flash and remove the two screws underneath, and you can pry off the cover - gently - to check the switch

I'm trying to take pictures without the flash but

You can shoot at faster shutter speeds if you raise the ISO setting. Also, turning up the lights will help.

Flash on Nikon D50 will not latch down

If you have a fine screwdriver, remove the two screws underneath the pop up flash housing and remove the upper housing. BE VERY CAREFUL OF THE 300V at wires under the cover. You can see where the latch catches on a disk with steps - rotate the disk to a lower step and it will catch. Otherwise, an independent repair shop can probably do it while you wait for less than $40 USD.

D70 internal flash not firing

Check if something is preventing the flash to pop up 'fully'. Check for some dust or other particles trapped between the flash and the body. Does the screen say 'Subject is too dark'? If so, the flash has not popped up fully.

Error 99 only when flash pops up

I know what you two are talking about. I ordered a Canon EOS 300d from a site called "Keh" and I had never used one before... so I get it in the mail on time. The camera works fine for a few minutes then I get an "error 99" and can't do jack with the camera. I researched online and even called keh ... I read and heard that it has to do with the lens... so I sen't the camera back and got my money.

Nikon D40X inbuilt flash

If it's withing 30 days, get it exchanged. I have a D70s and it's been working fine for me, maybe something with the D40x with other customers? Take it back to the store and let an "instructor" try it out to make sure it's not a setting.

It's great for the manufacturer to know about any problems so they can get a good sample of problems to help many people. Good luck.
