Question about Linksys (WMP54GS) 802.11g/b Wireless Adapter
I can't update my drivers or uninstall them I receive a message saying that my hardware may be needed to boot the machine and cannot be uninstalled? I have tried a lot of stuff, Where in my bios can I turn this option off. Also in the reg? MSconfig? Please help
instead of uninstalling the drivers try updating the drivers directly following are the steps..
1)right click on my computer go to properties.
2)In the poperties box, click on the tab that says advanced, under advanced click on device manager.
3)under device manager, click on the + sign besides network adapters and then right click on the wireless drivers and click on properties,
4)under properties box click on the tab that says drivers out here you will see another tab that says update drivers.
5)once you click on this option it will give a screen through which you can fine the location of the drivers saved in your computer.
6)Follow the next option and it should update the drivers for you wihtout having uninstall the older version..
http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support/WMP54G/download (link to download the drivers, choose the appropriate version from the box to get the right drivers, and when u click on download save it in the desktop)
hope this fixes the problem...if you are stuck let me know..
