Backlight Flickers Olevia LT37HVS

I would be glad to give you my power supply. How can I test it to see if it is defective? I have the problem with the TV flickering, and I have heard it is either the power supply or the inverter. If I hook I a volt meter to the power supply, what should I see that would tell me it was defective? Just low voltage, or something else. I'm a hacker not an expert. Thanks for the help!!!

Check inverter supply voltage, (should be constant and stable) if found ok, then inverter or back-light tubes are suspected.

This sounds like a defective batch of fluorescent backlight sources; have seen this complaint before.
This may be tough to acquire since I don't know how standard those are across the industry and Olevia has filed for bankruptcy so you can't count on them.

Hi! My Bravia 40 LCD had a loud pop and went out. Turned it back on and its flickering. Seems like the top half is darker. Probably where the problem is located. Not sure. I have no idea about tv repairs....

The POP you heard was probably a capacitor in the power supply exploding. This will cause the DC power to ripple, causing the flickering you see. It may be possible to repair or replace the defective board/component. Many manufacturers are using poor grade capacitors that are operating at their limits in these machines and it is common for them to fail.

Rca led32b30rq pictures flickers

This is the common problem with this model of RCA TV, the problem is not defective LED strips, but the power supply.

You may purchase a power supply on the net, but you can't guaranty that it is a good one.

This is the trick to make this TV work:

On the power supply, locate the R410 100K resister, solder a 220K/0.125W resistor in parallel with it, this will race up the oscillation frequency of the back light power supply circuit & make the voltage stable.

It is not a proper service procedure, but it works for us.

Dishwasher makes tv flicker what causes this

1. the interference filter on your dishwasher is defective. all electic motors give off a type of radiation which is picked up by other devics such as radios and tv sets, most devices have a component which filters this out. this part may be defective.

2. both tv and dishwasher are on same power supply try swithing the tv to a different power outlet to see if this solves the problem if it does have an electrical engineer test the power sockets for any faults.

i hope this helps

If the flicker is given by backlight, then the problem is either inverter board or power adapter. In some case a defective PC board may also be responsible. A defective inverter is the part that gives this problem more commonly.

Check your power supply. IF it is through a UPS then try connecting directly to a main supply. If problem persists then look for a ACer service center immediately. There might be a problem with the panel.
