Re: my creative zen v pluse dosent even turn on or charg...
I had a similar problem with a Zen Xtra 30GB. I found that if I hooked up the charger to it and then plugged and unplugged it in to the wall socket several times (not from the player end of the charger) it shocked it back into charging again. It worked for me and a couple other people.
It's a 50-50 shot. It will either work or not.
It won't turn on cuz the battery is 100% dead and there is no power from the charger for whatever reason.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

had same prob to the T...found this post and it fixed it...it's the computer not the zen...once I did the two steps my zen started charging and turned on...go figure...the flashing blue light doesn't mean it is charging. posted on Feb 25, 2009
you have windows set to do automatic updates, you most likely had a
windows update installed that caused this conflict with Win Media
Player 11. No fix has been posted by Microsoft yet, so the only
workaround is to Uninstall/Rollback Windows Media Player 11. Goto
<Control Panel<Add/Remove Programs and remove Windows Media
Player 11. Follow prompts, restart computer when prompted to. Also
uninstall Windows Media Player 11 Runtime application following same
This will roll your Windows Media Player back to version 10 or 9,
whichever you had installed prior to version 11. You will need to
re-configure Windows Media Player again.
Your Zen should now be recognized by WMP and Creative software. You
probably need to upgrade your firmware at this point, follow the
instructions on upgrading your firmware, and you should be good to go.
This is a windows problem, not a creative problem. Dont blame Creative
for the screwed up hotfixes that Microsoft puts out on a regular basi
my pc stopped detecting my zen. i tried and tried on all different pcs and nothing would pick it up. couldnt even get the battery sign on the zen. thought it was knacked. then one day i plugged it in again, got distracted and walked away. when i came back about two hours later, it was detected and charging. thought maybe that it was so flat that it had to charge a wee bit before it could display anything or the pc could find it. i dont know, dont know much about these things. just a thought
http://support.creative.com/Products/Products.aspx?catid=213&catName=MP3+Players GO HERE. download a service manual or here I've had mine for 10 months, and the battery is dead. I did pry the Zen
apart. There's 3 plastic pieces that hold it together. Just wedge a
common screwdriver on the lower front piece first. Then remove the
upper piece around the viewing screen; http://i33.tinypic.com/2rnhhfm.jpg
The little monitor is held into position using double face tape. Gently
pry it away from the circuit board. DO NOT REMOVE THE RIBBON CABLE. Let
it hang by the cable. Then remove the two screws holding the board to
back piece. The battery is mounted on the back side with double face
tape pry it off and use a soldering iron to remove it from the circuit
board. http://i36.tinypic.com/8vqg61.jpg http://i37.tinypic.com/20kspis.jpg. RICHARDM69
If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause." try downloading the MP3 player recovery tool from Creative's website (the tool contains the latest firmware update available -- 1.15.03). Plug your ZV+ into your PC, run the program and let it update the firmware. Then format, reload your music and try it.
By the way, before updating the firmware, let the battery have a full charge, ok?
I hope it won't keep freezing on you after the update.
