Re: The keys do not light up in the dark on my keyboard...
I had the same question a month ago (with the Verizon version) and found that the actual problem was that I had the brightness turned all the way down. When I turned the brightness up to the second notch from the left, the keys lit up again. Although, I do not have it set to only turn on the keyboard backlight on in the dark. I have it set to always turn on when I slide out the keyboard. I also noticed that when I had the brightness turned all the way down, the lights on the front (aside from the touchscreen) i.e. the internet explorer button, would not light up either. That helped me a little with troubleshooting. Hope this helps!

I do not believe the Probook 4440s has LED lighting for the keyboard. The key combinations Fn+F2 and Fn+F3 keys at the top of the keyboard control the monitor brightness (backlight). The keyboard is spill-resistant.
You need to attach an external keyboard with backlighting or a USB light to see your keyboard in a dim environment.
Try this. It stumped myself and some true experts once. We were having problems with the keyboard in a darkened room. There is a Function ( "F" or "FN") key on the lower left of the keyboard. It's labeling is often blue in color. In low light conditions, you cannot see the blue coloring. It is used to turn a section of the keyboard into a calculator. That section will have dark blue numbers written on the keys that change function. For example the K may have a dark blue number 2 written on it. In other words, When you type the Alphabet you come up with some numbers substituted for letters and not all of the keys may function. Give it try. Best Regards, Mark
open up your phone you'll need phone screw here.than you can check keypad connector, clean up with an pencils eraser(its safety) usually keypad or keypad light problem because off dirty connector.good luck.
Verify batteries are correctly inserted (I have to rule this out) and that the polarity diagrams are respected.
Try to turn the calculator ON with the TI-Nspire keyboard and with the TI84Plus keyboard.
With the TI84Plus keyboard in place, try to adjust the contrast of the screen by
pressing the [2nd] key and releasing it.
Then press [UpArrow] to darken the screen if it is too light OR the DownArrow if screen is too dark.
If you fail to get any meaningful response from the calculator, put the TI-Nspire keyboard in place/ Make sure you do not press the ON key (put the slide cover to protect screen and keyboard) and press the RESET button on the back of the calculator. For that, use a straightenedpaper clip.
If all fails, I suggest you reinstall the Operating system. The procedure is detailed in this article.

Sorry for the last answer. The expert probably didn't understand your question.
If you have purchased the optional backlit keyboard, the right-arrow key will have the backlit keyboard icon on it. The backlit keyboard provides visibility in dark environments by illuminating all symbols on the keys. The settings for this keyboard can be personalized by using Dell QuickSet.
Backlit Keyboard Brightness Settings – Press <Fn> + right-arrow key to toggle between the three lighting states (in the given order). The three lighting states are: a. full keyboard/touch pad brightness b. half keyboard/touch pad brightness c. no lighting
