I have the GE 25881EE3 with the corded base with an answering machine and a cordless phone. I am unable to get the portable to work with the base. I have removed the battery for twenty minutes and reset the memory and have run the set-up program on the base phone. The following statement comes up: "Waiting handset registration". Nothing happens after that and then the next question comes up......Default setting - yes or no. I chose yes. When I press the "talk" button on the handset, I get a "unavailable" on the handset!

Any suggestions????? Your assistance will be
appreciated.

You have to unplug everything, take the batteries out of all the phones, wait ten minutes and then plug everything back in. Mine does this once or twice a week... they won't give me my money back.

My phone drops my call when I am using the phone after about 30 - 45 minutes.

Where is your base handset located? I had to move mine so that it was out in the open more. Try relocating yours to see it helps. Moving mine solved my problem.

You may also link your cell phone with a Bluetooth connect to see if that improves performance to your satisfaction.

I have a Panasonic KX-TGA652 dual handset no answering machine. The problem I have is the 1st handset "the base set", doesn't seem to work properly, the 2nd handset works 100% fine. The problem is this,...

Id try the following in this order:

  1. Try swapping batteries with another set and see if the problem follows the battery
  2. Try re-registering the handset, they could of missed one at the factory. that is done by selecting menu->initial settings->register handset
If this doesn't work, then return for warranty/exchange. Mine seem to work great right out of the box.

I can hear, but not talk, on my ATS RA2184BB cordless phone.

Have you tried unplugging your base station and all the handsets?

Sometimes the base station, where the power and the telephone line plugs into needs a reset. Just like a computer sometimes it needs a reboot.

If problem presists, take a regular analog phone and plug it in to the same jack as the cordless phone bas station, and see if it is a cable issue/ telephone company issue.

NBX 3102 Headset jack stops working

You should be using a plantronics a-10 interface cable if you are using hardwire headsets. get rid of the m-20 amplifiers. I support 280 of these phones and the best solution is to replace the phone. Power cycling the phone will help for a while but the problem will come back.

Base set fine - additional handsets dont work

The additional handset and the base need to "pair" first. Put the handset in the base cradle till you see the red light blinking. That's when they are paired.

Handset not working

I had this exact problem. My solution was to clean the top of the condensor microphone. Something was spilled onto the phone and ran down into the hole that leads to the microphone. It not only affected the microphone, but made some of the buttons stick as well. The phone is not difficult to disassemble, just try not to touch the electronic components. If you are experienced in electronics, you may know that using a wrist strap( available at electronics supply stores or online) and grounding yourself will help protect the electronics. While you are at it, get some pure isoproply alcohol, and some cotton swabs, making sure that the swab is saturated with the alcohol. Just clean around the interior area of the phone where the condensor microphone is. You will want to even remove the black screen over the microphone to be sure everything is clean!!! Make sure the little hole that leads from the front of the phone to the microphone is clear and clean. I believe you will solve your problem.
