The Control Pad on the door of fridge used to have green lights that were lit all of the time. Now the lights only light up when you open the door or touch the pad. What happened?

I sounds as if you fridge is in power save mode as described on Page 19 of the manual. If you press the freezer and Ice Plus buttons simultaneously and hold them for 5 seconds you should hear a ding sound. The diplay operation should return to normal.

Control on door has flasing lights, water and ice has stopped working

this appears to be the door switch is either bad or disconnected and has triggered an alarm mode to the display. If the unit is cooling ok then you should remove and check the switch with a meter.

LG gn253sqa electro cool- temp. control lights in fridge keep flashing and fridge not cooling so good, help?

This has happened to me a couple of times. The problem is that when the fridge door is opened too may times the warm air of summer will block the cold outlets in the fridge with ice.The cold air comes direct from the freezer and the chamber connecting to the fridge clogs up with ice. What one has to do is completely empty the fridge and freezer, leave open both doors so the the ice build-up can melt. Then after about at least 4-5 hours (very important to stick by this time-frame as I tried a less time, but it did not work.),close both the freezer and fridge doors and switch it on.After about 1/2 hour replace your goods in the fridge. The down-side of this is that you will need the kindness of a neighbor or two to use their fridge to store your food whilst this fix is underway..

The water stopped coming out of the water dispenser and the ice maker will not make and drop ice. The line from the house to the fridge is not clogged, the lines to the icemaker do not appear clogged.

Sounds like someone accidentally locked you out. If you see a RED light lit above the touch pad.

To Lock Out Press the LOCK Touch Pad for 3-5 seconds. A Red light will appear above

the Touch Pad.

To Unlock

Press the LOCK Touch Pad for 3-5 seconds until the Red light above the

Touch Pad goes out.

Other possibilities:

Household water line valve is not open. -open valve

Freezer door is not closed-Close door tight

Ice & water filter cartridge is clogged-replace filter
Front filter not fully installed, if equipped-Push filter until you hear a CLICK. filter should be FLUSH with cabinet

Refrigerator light stays on ?

LG has a wonderful way of turning on their refrigerator lights, they have the control board do it. Very nicely done in theory but in reality I would trust a handy door switch to control the light on/off function then a relay that get's stuck. That's right, the relay is stuck on the control board. Pull light bulbs out quickly before plastic melts on the inside top panel of fridge. Call LG, it should be covered under warranty.

Lights stay on in fridge

HI. The door switch will be the culprit here.

The interior light in most refrigerators, and the fan in some, are controlled by a door switch. When the door is closed, the switch is depressed and the interior light goes off and the fan resumes normal operation. If the door is misaligned or the switch malfunctions, the refrigerator may become warm as a result of the non-operation of the evaporator fan and the heat generated by the interior light. Test the switch for continuity using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1. Place a probe on each terminal. The multimeter should change from a reading of infinity to zero when the probes touch the terminals. With the probes still touching the terminals depress the switch, the reading should change back to infinity. If it does not pass both of these tests, the switch should be replaced.

Control pad flashing temp and all lights continuously and ice door continually cycles open and closed

Hi,
With the problems it is presenting, I would say it's very likely.
However it may take a bit of detective work to find which board is defective.

Check a part suppliers link Here for price comparison so you have some ideas.
