My lexmark will install teh printer but not the imaging studion. new Pc using windows 7 old Pc under windiows XP worked fine. installing software off of CD. It does not seem to do the install completely but sais it is happy.
Teifion Thomas:
If you did the complete install of the software, then the program is there, you just don't have a shortcut icon on your desktop. You'll have to click on "start" then find the folder that contains your imaging studio software executable file (when you double click on that icon, imaging studio comes up on the screen). resize the window so that you can see part of your desktop behind the current window, left click on the executable file icon and drag it to the desktop and release the mouse button. Click on create shortcut and you'll have an icon for your imaging studio on your desktop.
It has not copied half the files from the CD. I have checked the icon it created and it keeps complaining of missing exevutables like lxcrlpx and when i manually copied it to the correct area then it complained of missing lxcrgf.dll (however I have no clue where this shoudl be placed) so overall the installation does not seem to be working,
Downloaded driver as per Thomas F Schneider recomendations this fixed the problem thanks

SOURCE: how to install my lexmark x1100 all in one printer without cd
First thing you need to do is uninstall the current software and printer.
Then go to: X1100 Series Driver
Select your operating system...Vista...from the drop down menu.
The next page has the link to download the driver. (It should be cjrX1100EN.exe. Click on "Download Now".
When you begin the download and the download window appears, select "Save" and direct the download to save to your desktop.
After the download is complete, close all the windows, or other programs.
Make sure your printer is ON but also that the USB cable is DISCONNECTED. Double-click the file on your desktop that you downloaded. When prompted by the software, connect your USB cable.
That should do it. If you run into any problems, just comment back.
Thanks for using Fixya.

Hi. It would really help a lot if you also have the installation cd for the printer. The scan software can be installed using the cd. I believe it's not available for download on the internet since it's a big file. Hope this helps.
