Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I found the fix a year ago but now cant remember how to fix this. My Medion desk top wont recognize the photo card drives. It was something like turn off CPU, turn off switch in back, hold down front button for XX seconds. Anyone here remember how or what to do?

Problem fixed. Shut down the CPU, then flip the switch on the back tothe off position. While in the off position, push in on the power button on the front as if you wanted to start it up. Leave it pushed in for several seconds. Then release, turn back switch back to on, and THEN fire up the CPU. Icons for card reader should be restored.

Desk top is not coming on and I need to download the pictures on memory

Well, it could be much more complex then just the switch that turns on and off the PC. If the PC makes no sounds what soever then it could be the Power Supply. If the PC makes beeps then it could be a number of things. Hopefully it isn't the Hard Drive. If it is booting but not going to Windows then it could be the Hard Drive. If it is anything then the hard drive then the photos are safe. I would have the PC checked out by someone who can physically check it out. Good luck. When I work with physical computers I hate when a Hard Drive goes out and can't save people memories.

Acer aspire t 180 cant get pc to recognize digital camera photo memory card

Has the computer recognized the memory card in the past? If so, try download and reinstalling the memory card driver.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Acer Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Card Reader drivers.

If after installing the drivers the reader still does not work, you can purchase a multi format card reader that will plug into you usb port from Tiger Direct for less than $15. at

http://www.tigerdirect.com

When the site comes up just put in the search at the top "SD Card Reader or XD Card Reader" depending you your type and press GO. You can sort the returned results by Price Low to High.

Do you have a USB Cable that came with the camera that you can plug into one of the usb ports on the computer? If so, try that. It's another way of getting pictures off the camera. Plug the cable on the camera and into the computer then turn the camera on. The computer will recognize the camera and install the drivers. You can navigate through the camera folders just like you do any other device to find the pictures.

My medion has a tv card but cant watch tv

What you need do is install the drivers/applications that are necessary for your TV card to work. Find these drivers/utilities on the CD disk that came with your computer.

If you do not have access to the CD disk, find the drivers on the internet using the makers name and model number of the TV card. This info can be found on the TV card itself.

Take care!

Thats because if you havent upgraded your soundcard with win7 then the sound card wont recognize any commands from a system more advancede than what the graphics card is compatable with.

Need help my desk top monitor is showing a sign flashing saying no signal detected need to see how to fix or what might be the issue with desk top

This is the message shown when you power off your computer but you leave the monitor on. If your PC is on but you still see this message then it is a video problem. It could be as simple as a loose connection somewhere in your video cable (either where it plugs into the monitor or where it plugs into the PC). It could also be the monitor-many have different input modes and maybe the input mode changed somehow. Then again something could be wrong with the video card-are components loose on it? Check all of these, in that order (easiest to hardest), and I think you will have found the problem.

Hope this helps.

Having speakers to work on vizo desk top . all in on desktop!

You need to remove the unknows first. Try the speakers on another device. You could try a walkman, another computer or anything with an 1/8th" Stereo jack. Prove that the speakers work or get a pair of headphones to check out your PC. If you are using the green jack on the back try the headphone jack on the front. If the front works and the back doesn't check the sound card options / set up. Some have an icon by the time in the bottom right corner others will need to be found under the sound effects manager or the sounds and audio devices icon. I suspect if you get this far something has been turned off in the software.

Crashed desk top been reformatted wontaccept medion system files

Seems like you will need to get your hands on a restore disk or windows installation cd for the version you have.

You will need to either restore the computer to the original state or install a fresh installation of windows from the setup cd, after that you need to get the drivers for the computer from medion support.

Emachine T3508 Loud Loud Loud

The only sure way to quiet it down is to replace the hard drives with newer ones, that you have selected based on their noise rating, AND to replace all the fans in the machine with fans that you have selected based on their noise rating. I did this for my self-built machine last year and never regretted spending the money on new drives and new fans. It's SO much quieter! ;)
