Question about Lexmark Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I hve an X83 all-in-one ... I lifted the cover to copy a picture and it SOUNDED like something dropped into the bck. When I pushed start, there was a loud "BANG". We could find nothing inside, yet whenever the 2 cartridges came together we got this loud bang. This loud bang happened once before when my my cell phone fell down into the bck. I fished out the phone and everything worked well. Now this. I disconnected everything and the "multi-media" guy from church took a look at it, but couldn't discover any problem. I do not know whether to toss it out (I really LOVE this mchine) or send it somewhere to be fixed. Sincerely, Mrs Sharonn Buckman 641-791-5286

Sounds like the ink carrier is broken. It is not economical to get it repaired.

I dont have a picture at the moment but if you lift the document feeder up to expose the large plate glass, the small plate glass is normally situated at the extreme left hand side of the large plate glass.

Rear window does not work, It can be raised and lowered by hand When I pushed the switch to raise the window, it sounded as if something dropped within the door panel

Check your door panel by opening the cover upholstery,
as well as the door handle. The motor driving the linkage
must be checked for defects.

ML2250 Laser

Dead/dry fan bearing.  Either: * order a new fan and replace it  * peel off the sticker on the fan and add a tiny drop of sewing machine oil - I did and has fixed mine (not sure how long)
Pretty easy machine to disassamble without a manual as long as you don't force anything. Well engineered 2- 4 screws for each panel and some very mild flexing of panel clips required. Remove in order: back cover (ease past power switch); top cover - have to lift to about 30deg at front; front cover (unplug wire to light assembly, unclip top + push forward); side cover (note hooks on bottom; unclip top and push to rear).

Lexmark x83

Sounds like there is something like a part of a sticky address label, or a piece of other paper stuck inside.

Take a heavy piece of card stock and feed it through the paper path. Chances are, when you get the card stock all the way through, it will push out the offending object that is hung in the paper path.
