Question about DVD & Blu-Ray Players

1 Answer

Need download of Kids Imaging Studio Software.   Daughter received a 32490/32492 Digital Video Camera which came with a 2 1/2 inch installation disk.  I have an I-Mac and it only takes 6 inch disk.  Need download so she can do her thing (editing/titling/cropping, etc.)  Please advise.

How can I play you tube videos on it?

Hello,
It seems as though you are burning the downloaded youtube videos directly to a CD/DVD and trying to play them back on your DVD.I also deduce that your DVD player does not support playback of data discs.
To play back such videos on your DVD, you must use a software that will encode them to the appropriate format and medium of choice, e.g. a Video DVD or Video CD(VCD or SVCD standard). Check out Microsoft's Nero Burning Kit from http://www.nero.com/.This software supports encoding of video files to VCDs and DVDs. Another tool that you might find useful is the famous DVDVideosoft Free Studio from http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/.It supports many video formats and I suggest you download the full studio. The download is approximately 56MB in size. A much better product that I would advice you to use is ConvertXtoDVD.The tool isn't free, but it's results are simply mind-blowing.It also supports multi-threaded, multi-core and multi-processor(SMP) processing.Get it from http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/download-convertxtodvd.php
Have a great time ahead.

I can not play my dvd on sony dvd player i get message canot play.i have a sony dvd recorder in which my laproscopic surgeries are recorded.if i play my unedited dvd on player it runs or plays very well...

My guess is the Pinnacle software isn't writing correctly. Read this from the Pinnacle support site.

Use this FAQ to troubleshoot any problems where Studio is failing during the process of burning the DVD.

  1. INSTALL THE LASTEST PATCH:

If you have Studio version 12, download the latest version here.

If you have Studio version 11, download the latest version here.

Note: Studio 11 patches will only patch a previous install of Studio 11.

If you have an older version of Studio (Studio 9, 10, or 11 etc), it is advised for you to update to the current Studio software. The current version is Studio 12. Click Here to go to the Studio 12 Upgrade page.

How to download and install a patch:

  • When downloading the patch make a note of where it is being saved to. We recommend saving the patch to the desktop.
  • Before installing the patch, make sure that you do not have any other programs running. Studio must not be running.
  • Once it is fully downloaded, double-click on the patch to begin the installation.
  • Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the installation. Reboot the computer after applying the patch.

  1. MAKE DISC SETTING, SAFE MODE BURN OPTION: In Studio, click on Setup -> Make Disc. Under the box marked Burn Options, select "Safe Mode: create disc content and then burn" by clicking on the radio button in front of the setting and then click OK. While troubleshooting this problem, always use this setting.

  1. RESTART STUDIO: Shut down Studio, then relaunch it. Try to create the DVD again using the safe mode setting above.

  1. RESTART THE COMPUTER: Try opening the door of the DVD burner. If it won't open, then shut down Studio, then restart the computer. Launch Studio and try to create the DVD again using the safe mode setting.

  1. MEDIA:

BLANK MEDIA IN THE DRIVE: Make sure that there is a blank, write-once media or rewriteable media in the DVD burner.

TYPE OF DVD: Make sure that your DVD burner supports the media you use. As for any problem with burning a DVD, we recommend customer use rewriteable media to reduce the number of wasted DVDs when they have to troubleshoot a failure while burning DVDs. In this case, if you have only used rewriteable media, (RW) we would also recommend trying to use a write once (-/+ R) DVD and erasing the RW media.

BRAND OF DVD: Pinnacle recommends using a name brand of DVD, i.e. Sony, Apple, Memorex, etc. Also we recommend trying a DVD from a different manufacturer to see if the problem is related to the brand of DVD that is being used.

NOTE: Check with the following site to find information on the media being used.

http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia

  1. LOWER THE WRITE SPEED: In the Make Disc settings try lowering the Write Speed to the lowest possible setting.

  1. GET THE LATEST FIRMWARE: Ensure that the DVD burner being used has the latest firmware update from the burner manufacturer.

  1. CHECK DISC SPEED: Make sure that the disc media speed (printed on the media or on the media box) is compatible with the DVD burner. Some burners may not work with media that has a higher maximum supported burn speed. For example, if the burner being used supports 4x disc media, do not use 16x disc media.

  1. DELETE AUXILIARY FILES: Try deleting the Auxiliary Files for the current project. To do this, go to File -> Delete Auxiliary Files and select "Delete auxiliary files for current project." Press OK and try to re-render and burn the project.

  1. ALWAYS RE-ENCODE: Go to the Make Disc settings and check the box called "Always re-encode entire movie".

  1. SAFE MODE: Try burning with the safe mode option selected. To do this, go to the Make Disc settings. In the Burn options are select the option called: "Safe mode: create disc content and then burn.". This step does not apply if you are using Studio 12 since this is the default burn method.

  1. CREATE A DISC IMAGE: In Studio, click on Setup -> Make Disc. Under the box marked Burn Options, select "Create disc content but don't burn" by clicking on the radio button in front of the setting and then click OK. Then click the Create disc button in the Make Movie section to begin the image creation process.

If the image is not created, it is likely that the problem is a Render problem rather than a burn problem. Click Here to see the FAQ on Render problems.

If the disc image file is created successfully, burn the disc from the new disc image by selecting "Burn from previously created disc content" in Burn Options.

NOTE: When troubleshooting all burn or playback issues, it is recommended to use rewritable media to avoid wasting discs.

My three year old daughter pressed a number of buttons in some odd combination on my remote control which has made the screen have lines and and other sorts of glitches so that the images are not visible....

It mite be in progressive mode witch is for composite video if it is not hook up to the TV for progressive mode and is put in progressive mode the picture images are not visible and looks black and white and wiggly. Check owners manual on how to get out of progressive mode. Hope this helps kids will be kids.

Downloading video from Sony DCR-HC45 Camcorder using a 1394 Firewire. My PC is not recognising the connection. It did work at one stage without any problem but not any longer. What must I do

You have to go on Device Manager and delete the imaging device. Then uninstall old drivers and software used with the camcorder. With 32 bit OS (Win XP and Win 7 32 bit) install Nero 8 Essentails or any other video capture software. Do not plug in external device during install. After installation is complete, reboot your PC. Now you can connect your camcorder with firewire port and then open the nero software. Under video capture, it will detect your sony camcorder.

Trying to copy my videos to dvd's. Seem to be copying but blank dvd when done. I need this for Christmas, My husband used to do it and now he is deceased. Thank you

This is more then likely due to the "burning" software you are using. I personally recommend Ashampoo Burning Studio you can download a full version Right Here Completely free.

After you have that installed just click on > Burn Movies > Create a Video DVD > Just "Drag and Drop" the Video Files you want to Burn then when you are done adding your Video Files Click > Next > Choose and Appropriate Theme > Click Next Again > Insert a Blank DVD R > Click Write !

Just sit back and relax Ashampoo will do the rest.

I wish you the best and a Happy Holiday Season!

I hope this Helps you. Take Care =)

SONY DVP-NS57P does not display video

If your TV has no input selector but has a video input, the TV probably "hides" the video input between the lowest channel on the tuner and the highest channel. That means if your tuner goes from channel 2 to channel 119, the video input will be between 119 and 2. The best way to see if this is the case is to slect channel 2 and then use the up/down channel selector to go down and see if you find the video input. Let me know if this works!

Playing dvd-r on machine

This DVD player does play DVD-R

I burn lots of DVD on my computer from my video camera.

The very best quality DVD for burning from your computer is Taiyo Yuden. Other brands seem to work fine for me also. You should only buy a small quantity of DVD's until you decide which brand you like best. Then it is a good idea to buy 50 or more at a time. There is not much price difference in brands. I get 50 at a time for about $35.

You need a decent software to capture and edit the video, and to create a DVD.

I use Adobe Encore and Roxio Easy Media Creator 10.

For the easiest to use software I recommend Roxio. It makes a nice DVD and it captures video as well.

If your video camera has a firewire (IEEE) port for digital video you can capture the video with Windows movie maker, Roxio or any software that came with your camera.

You must also have a firewire port on your computer. If it doesn't have one, it is easy to install a PCI card with one.

If your camera doesn't have a firewire port, you may need to use the analog video (composite or S-video) , but you will need a video capture device. You would also need to input the audio seperately on your line input of your audio card.

I can help you further if you need it, but it would be very helpful to know how you plan on capturing the video and what type of devices you are using.

let me know if you need more help, and if this information was helpful a good rating is a great way you could say thanks for the help.
