I have Sharp AL 1631 and it is almost brand new...
I just used up factory supplied Toner and put a new one genuine Sharp. Copies are blur and not "sharp" it almost looks like they are not focused. I also replaced drum cartridge in case it was a problem... did not help. Cleaned also Transfer Charger - no change. Got back to old Toner cartridge but did not make any difference....
Any idea what that may be?

Check the toner supply, it may be running out of toner. Check the bottle or cartridge for correct install. Turn the machine on and let it warm up, Recheck the copy quality. If it is still light run a dozen blank copies, then a test copy if it is improving the toner is depleted and need to catch up, if it isn't there may be a problem with the toner add system.
the problem in your machine is on the drum unit there is a arching on the mc unit.located in the upper portion of the drum unit.if you have an old drum unit try to install it again just for testing.and check if ther is a dumping toner again.
Are you using a genuine OEM Sharp toner and drum? The paper pick-up rollers could use a good cleaning. Try a little WD 40 on a cotton cloth and clean the d shaped rollers. Also the feed clutch could be sticking. You have to take the back covers off to see the clutch. Clean and put some light grease on it. Easy parts to order and not expensive.
