SOURCE: Senseo won't fill itself on initial flush

Sounds like resevoir was not seated properly or something is in the resevoir. try pushing the pin on the bottom of the resevoir, do it over the sink, and see if water comes out. if tht works then its internal to the machine. Call senseo at 866-4-736-736 866-4-Senseo and describe the problem.if you have purchased or received it as a gift less than two years ago they will send a new one FREE.

SOURCE: Senseo 7814 does not heat water and red light keeps flashing

is the red light flashing as though not enough water, if so use a magnet to connect to the valve inside the machine, the valve can be found along the water level where the float is. what is happening is that the float is stuck. by connecting the magnet to the valve and very slowly moving the magnet along the water level, upwards the valve will follow and the water will begin to heat as the light changes to a slow flash, if it doesn't work try again as you have not connected to the magnet

SOURCE: My senseo machine doesn't seem to produce the

You may find that the plastic disc on the bottom of the pod holder is not sealing (there is an O ring) ,if the amount of coffee dispensed is more than usual that will be the problem, just buy a new pod holder.

Senseo will not turn on or heat water

No need to see what is in the manual.
But what I type here, you also have to read.
The manual gives pictures. I'm not.
Remove the transparent back of the machine and fill it with water. a few centimetres under the top, you fine the line for max fill.
Then replace the transparent back on the machine. Then plug in the power cord and press the power on button. (once is enough) a light comes on and flashes, when the mains plug has power.
Then wait till the light stops flashing. In the mean time put a coffee pad in the top and close the top all as described in the manual.
Place one or two cups under the nozzles and press the button with the one or two cups. (two cups gives twice as much water, so place two cups.

That is all.

The machine locks up and then when it heats up the water does not flow from the spout

Not sure what you mean by 'locks up', but if the slow flash changes into a steady light in the power button, 2 situations can occur in your case:
  • when nothing happens at all when you press one of the buttons: the button or the PCB inside the Senseo have failed.
  • when the power light starts slow flashing again: the pump motor has most likely died.
Either case requires contact with a repair shop . .

Not heating up still cold

I had the same problem after only a few months. There is a float at the side of the water resivour, this float also has a magnet attached to it and for some reason becomes lodged at the bottom of the tank, telling the machine that there is not enough water in the tank, even when there is. Use a magnet on the outside of the resviour, connect it to the one on the inside and lift very slowly upwards...Hey presto the light stops flashing and the water boils

Senseo machine has started producing very weak coffee

I don't know if you've tried this, but it works like gangbusters for me. I use non-senseo pods with the 2-pod holder, and they're too big for the 1-pod holder but not quite big enough for the 2-pod one.

I would frequently end up with a lousy, weak cup of coffee, and after a little investigation I deduced that water was flowing into the pod holder and AROUND the pod, without going THROUGH the pod directly. The name-brand senseo pods fit perfectly, and always produce a strong cup, even if I don't like their coffee, and it's because there's such a tight seal between where water flows in and where it flows out.

Simple solution: Put your pod in with the flat part facing up, and the bulgy part facing down. Press it down hard into the 2-cup holder. Run a little HOT tap water, and lightly wet the surface of the pod--not so much water that the pod starts floating in the holder, but enough to get it soggy. Then make your cup of coffee. The water will flow through the pod first, and kind of like siphoning gas through a hose, once it's started going through the pod it won't stop. Instant awesome cup.

My husband found in ours that the little float was stuck over the sensor (the little patch) down in the reservoir. The float could not rise with the water, thus, the machine did not know that there was enough water available and it would not stop blinking. He took the dry reservoir out, turned it upside down and shook it! This worked for him, as it unstuck the float. He said that if that doesn't work, the thing is really stuck and you might as well return it.

Pump doesn't pump

Yes, it is called descaling. Use a descaling solution, or vinegar and water, and follow the procedure for flushing your machine. After that, re flush it with plain water- nothing worse than vinegary coffee!

Senseo making to much coffee

Try flushing the machine by filling the water tank with water and then pressing both the one cup and the two cup buttons at the same time (make sure to put a big enough bowl under the spout). If this doesn't work, give Senseo a call: 1-866-4SENSEO. They should be able to help! Good luck!
