Question about RCA Universal Remote Control

Open Question

Where is the "code search," button on this remote RCR4385???HELP

The instructions are great, but I CAN NOT find the CODE SEARCH button? This should not be this difficult. Everything makes sense except for the lack of the button or control key, which is on the remote? Is there a alternate button or control key on the remote that is the CODE SEARCH button or key that can be converted to CODE SEARCH, BECAUSE IT IS NOT ON THE REMOTE I HAVE.

GETTING MORE AND MORE GRAY HAIRS EVERY MINUTE AND EACH IS GRAYER AND MORE FRUSTRATING.

HELP HELP HELP PLEASE HELP ME.

THANK YOU.

SOURCE: Tried everything, but can't find the right code to work.

While this isn't really a solution, I have the manual and it doesn't list an Emerson DVD/VCR (EWD2204) that I have. I can't get it to work with my VCR. I bought the RCE Universal remote (RCU703SP) at Lowes (in 2008). I can't help but notice that the date on the package is "2004 Thompson, Inc." I know that the DVD/VCR is newer than that. Perhaps this remote is a bit old (explains why it was cheap?) Anyway I did find a site that you can get the codes like in the instructions: http://remotefinder.rca.com/default.aspx?site=rca so hope this helps.

Press and hold TV and Power buttons until light is red. Press PLAY once, if TV does not come on press again untill TV comes on. Then press REVERSE until TV goes off. Last, hold down STOP until light goes off. I had to do this a couple of times, but it worked!
Thank so much,

How do i set a code on a philips tv/dvd remote if there is no :code search: button?

Look on the remote manufacturers site for instructions on how to do this. It is usually a combination of button pushing sequences to get it into programming mode.

I have a Philips magnavox TV, and A RCA remote without a code search button, I'm wondering how to find the code.

Get a Phillips universal remote (cheap at Wal Mart), and I bet you will find the right codes in the instructions that come with the remote. Easy, and no code search!

Lost remote mrd 310

most universals will use this method.

Great News!! We can program most Philips Universal Remotes with Automatic Code Searh. Here's how it works on most of our remotes.

Programming with Code Search

1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.

2. Press and hold Code Search button until the red indicator stays on. Release the Code Search button.

3. Press and release the desired mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blink, then stays lit.

4. Press the Channel Up button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device could be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit. If you accidentally overshoot the code required, press the Channel Down button to backtrack through the library until the device changes channel. Pressing Channel Up changes direction to forward again. Press and release the Mute button to install the code.

The above assumes that you want to store the VCR you want under the VCR but, Cable codes under the CBL, etc

Note: if the device does not have a chat channel at a button, you should Play (VCR only) or Power instead.

Here is a Code List on PDF that shoud be universal for most remotes. It worked for me.

Hope this helps you out, good luck.

I have a philips pm335 universal remote control

I went to the Phillips website and I wasn't able to find a code list. However, I did find the instructions to program your remote with "code search". Basically, it might take some time, but you can program your remote without the code list.

Hope this helps :)

Help

http://www.remotecodelist.com/remotes/magnavox/Philips-Magnavox_PM525S.pdf
This is the user's manual for a Phillips remote control. There is a list of codes in it. They should be rather universal. There's also instructions as to how to program it. I believe that there is a way to program it without using the codes.

Hope this helps :)

Urc 4220 remote....Citizen Vcr

Citizen is not a common brand, that is why. Do a code search that tries 100 diferent codes (as you press a button)
Normally code search has you press the same key repeatedly untill the device turns on, or off. Then you hit another button to save that found code. If you have tried that then it is not possible with that remote.
Instructions and remotes can be found at this link:
