Can you tell if there is any water in the ice cube "basket"? If it is full, then your ice maker is not sensing the water level "full" and keeps running. The fridge is normally able to handle a little overflow, about one pint or so, but cannot handle a constant run of water. If it is empty, the supply line may be disconnected somehwhere along its route, most likely near the bottom and at the rear of the fridge. You can pull the fridge out and look at it by removing the back cover. If the line is disconnected, reconnect and have a happy new year. If it is connected, here are two options as I see it.

One - check to make sure your ice maker is properly plugged in and installed at its location in the freezer. If you or someone you love has recently cleaned the fridge or shoved a fifty pound turkey in there, the ice maker may have come dislodged.

Two - replace the icemaker. These units come as a single purchase as you cannot just buy the senser. Cost of most of these I have seen are about $125 for the part (easy to install), which can be a deal breaker. Ice cube trays are $1.99 for two at the local hardware and they don't usually overflow.

Ice maker won't stop filling. Makes a little ice, but water is almost constant into the maker

The water control valve is shot. It's not making ice because there is a constant flow of water into the ice tray. Shut the water off at the feed point for the fridge for now. If the drain gets plugged you're going to have a small catastrophe on your hands.

Here's a procedure to test it to be sure:

Water flow tube on ice maker leaking by causing ice blockage

When the ice maker calls for water, the valve sends water to the ice maker in the appropriate amount and then shuts off, sending no more water until the ice maker calls for it again. If the water fill line is freezing up, this will cause a leak the next time the ice maker calls for water. The water has to go somewhere. The problem is more than likely the the water valve. It is not shutting off completely and it is allowing a small trickle of water to be constantly sent to the ice maker. This causes the fill line to freeze up and clog. Replace the water valve and defrost the water fill line and solve the problem.

Where would a scotmans mv450 leak there is no constant water running enough to make the ice

if water was leaking you would see it. sounds like your not getting water, check water shut off valve to make sure it is on, check water filter make sure it is not stopped up, check water inlet valve make sure it is opening and is not stopped up, check to make sure water supply line is not kinked.

I have a roper side by side rs22aqxgw03 model, made in 2001, ice machine not working but the water function is working on the front

Good day,
If you are getting water from the front then you can skip the step about checking for water to the machine.
However, a step by step procedure should get your ice maker working.

First step is to take a small paper cup of water and fill the cavity until it is near full. With the ice maker turned on, close freezer door and wait 3 hours to see if it harvests. If not, the ice maker is bad, and must be replaced. If the cubes harvest then.......
Three possibilities.
1. The water supply from the house is not delivering water to the water valve. Shut off the house at the meter, disconnect the line going to the water valve, and with the line pointed into a bucket, have someone turn the valve back on for a 15 second count. The water should come out smartly. If not, the line and it's fittings will have to be replaced.
2. The fill tube from the back of the machine that feeds water into the back of the ice maker is frozen up. You will have to remove the ice maker to visually inspect that tube. If blocked, it needs to be defrosted, but use caution. Too much heat too fast will start to melt plastic and vinyl parts you don't want melted.
If this is the case, then once cleaned out, you will have to change the water valve located in the back bottom rear of the machine because it is leaking during the off cycle.
3. If everything checks O.K. up to this point, you will have to purchase and install a new water valve, and install it.
P.S. Under very rare occasions the electric circuity in the ice maker will fail to send a signal to the water valve. Although rare, it can happen, in which case the best option is to replace the ice maker and water valve.

Water leaks from ice maker

Good day,
When the ice maker harvests, near the very end of the harvest cycle, contacts in the ice maker send power to the water valve in the bottom back of the machine, for a period of 7 seconds, after which, the water valve must shut off smartly.
Appears the valve doesn't close fast enough, or completely.
The solution, is to replace the water valve. No repairs to it are possible.
Before doing that, make sure the fill tube is lined up properly going into the back of the ice maker.

Icemaker not working- red light flashes constantly

The red light should flash twice , pause then flash twice constantly . If you close the flap on the left side , then the light should go off . This shows the optics (ice maker cut off ) are good .

Check the black tube ( fill tube ) , which puts water into the ice maker , to see if it is iced inside . If so , then the water valve behind the refrig is bad . It seeps into the tube and freezes , blocking the water flow .

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it freezes and dumps , then the water valve needs replaced . If it doesn't dump , and stays frozen in the ice maker , replace the ice maker . Also , make sure the coils under the front of the refrig are clean , as this will cause warmer temp in the freezer and the ice maker needs 5 degrees to operate .

GE adora side by side refrigerator DTL181C5RRBS

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Water dispenser leaks, ice maker won't make ice. Hve disconnected line at bottom front, and tried blowing out the lines, no help. Model EDQ22DQFNX00

Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

For the ice maker problem, Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear. If it does, the problem is the ice maker and not the valve and line.

Exactly the same.

The hose that carries the water from the top coil to the evaporator pan is plugged with ice. You need to leave your unit unplugged for a long time so the ice in the drain hose can melt. If you restart it too soon the problem will not be solved.
