Question about Powermatic 15HH 15" Deluxe Planer w/ Byrd Shelix Cutterhead 1791213

1 Answer

Planar adjustment loose

My powermatic 15" planar does not hold a parallel line. That is when you run stock through the machine the vibration causes the table to open as the wood moves through. Therefore I get a cut the is correct at the front and opens up increasingly towards the back. The locking wheels at the back of the machine no longer lock the table in place.

Vibrates real bad in spin mode.

Check to see if the washer is level, and adjust the leveling legs if necessary. Always lock the legs in place after adjustment to keep them from getting loose as they do work themselves loose during heavy vibration conditions.
The following items could cause the vibration problem:
1. Clutch assembly
2. Vibration dampers that support the tub. Should one or more be faulty, always replace all four simultaneously.

What causes my frigidaire top load washer to vibrate and make rattling noise during spin cycle

There are springs and bumpers/shocks in the machine that hold the tub. When they break or come loose, the tub wobbles.

The drum spins wildly out of balance to the point that it wears away the hard white plastic shield at the front. Is there some alignment guide that may need to be adjusted

this is usually caused by uneven loads. if your sure the the loads are evenly balanced check under your washer for loose or dropped parts

Belt for Powermatic 15" Planer (Planer Model M-0460213)

Order the first one through Powermatic, then order any new replacements from the number on the belt. Or you can measure the pulley belt width and use a metal tape measure to find the total length by running the tape (number side in) over each pulley rim. Then order as a standard hardware source belt. Make sure the motor is bolted down about midway in it's mounting slots when measuring.

Sander kick out

I cant find anything on the powermatic tool that you listed, but is this something recent? Look at the nameplate on the machine and if it a large unit it would probably say around 15-20 amps but to start the unit sometimes it pulls more than the listed rating and could be causing your problem. Check the outlet that you have it plugged into, is there anything else online with this that would draw a lot of current when starting e.g. freezer. If you can provide me with some more data I will check other floor sanders and see what I can come up with.

Vibrating badly at full speed

I do not know your machine but I used a STARRITE and had the same problem. My technician could not get it to run quietly and refused to use it. I took time and went through all the adjustments. Make sure you set the correct tention for the blade you're using. Make sure the blade just touches the support bearing. There are lead blocks top and bottom. The blade must run smoothly between these, but just. After about 45minutes I had it running quietly

The problem can also be caused by a blade that is too big (thickness) especially if it was under tention for a long time and not being used. The blade presses the rubber on one side of the wheel which causes it to be off balance at speed but that is supposed to normalise after a while.

In order to provide a few pointers, you need to indicate where these units will come from. Do you plan on shipping out for repair or are you looking for a local repair shop? Where are you?

Washing machine stops in middle of spin cycle, have to pull control knob out over and over to complete cycle.

If the machine restarts immediately, vibration may be disabling the door closed switch. This switch is designed to stop the machine when the door opens, and if it becomes misaligned any large vibrations may cause it to sense that the door is open. This will not happen usually under the relatively mild vibrations from the wash cycle. Try running it while holding the door down. It can be adjusted but the top usually must be removed to do so.
