Question about Teac AG-D8900 Receiver

1 Answer

I have a teac AG D8900 Digital Home Theater. My subwoofer seems to be dead. No lights come on the front of Sub Woofer even though it's plugged in. I tried changing outlets. The wire from speaker to receiver seems ok? I can't seem to find any fuses on the sub woofer. Is there some place I should be looking? Thanks!

I have the same-just talked to TEAC last week, if fuses(two 5 amp glass ones inside housing-just remove screws on back after un-plugging 120v power) on the LSR-1008 subwoofer are blown, it may be failed relays. I replaced my fuses, both blew w/in 5 seconds. Called TEAC today, relays are NOT available alone and are solder connected; however, complete new circuit board is plug in, part #APE000515-0001 at $47.69 plus shipping. Verify #s and price with TEAC, but now I must decide if it's important to keep this sub, or if another at around 60$ on Ebay is a better bet. Good luck!

I wish to replace a subwoofer on a surround sound system

In most surround sound systems the sub woofer is powered separately and uses a standard RCA coax connection to the receiver/amplifier.

Replacing is simply plugging in the new and reconnecting the coax cable.

Usually the audio signal is Dolby Digital 5.1 the (.1) is the LFE Sub-woofer. The connection is between the Subwoofer RCA connector on the amplifier and connects to the (LFE-Line) in on the subwoofer speaker.

Hope this helps?

No sub woofer volume

Make sure Subwoofer power is on and connected with RCA cable in correct place.

Go into setup of "Speaker setup" and select 5.1 setup. Activate subwoofer to YES if setting is No.

On some Amps you need to select front speakers to SMALL even if you have large speakers to enabled subwoofer.

Can I connect an active speaker to the Teac AG d7900 output

http://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-184407791-av-digital-home-theater-receiver-teac-ag-d7900-_JM

It would have helped to know something morwe about the 'active' speaker.I imagine its manual would tell you what it needs for input.

Active speakers are usually designed to be driven by volume-controlled Line Level inputs. This receiver has none except for the Subwoofer PRE Output.

Can I hook a turntable to a Teac AG-D8900. Where do I input?

only if the unit has a PHONO input never plug a turntable into any other jack as teh voltage is different.

I have seen an adapter so that you can plug a turntable into an ordinary input I believe Radio Shack but that was along time ago try ebay
