Question about Pioneer AVIC-F700BT Car GPS Receiver

3 Answers

Hello, I have the pioneer AVIC 700bt. When I plug my Ipod nano into the USB adapter on the head unit, the Ipod display comes up right away and it shows that it is playing but there is no sound coming through the speakers. Also the head unit is in full control of all the Ipod functions so the two are communicating.

You will need to be using the CD-IU230V cable for the iPod.
After connections, you will also need to follow these step:
Press "menu".
Press "settings"
Press " AV Settings"
Press "AV1 Input" multiple times until it says iPod.

You will now be able to hear the sound from the ipod when it is selected as a source.

I struggled with this problem for about a week. It turns out that the USB connection is only for the ipod controls. You will need to install another cord in order to send the music from the ipod to the head unit. The part number you are looking for is CD-IU230V. It has the connection to the ipod, a USB output, and 3 RCA outputs (standard red, yellow, white). This is what fixed the problem for me.

However, you may also need to install a firmware update for newer ipods. The intrsuctions for determining the need for the update and installation of the update can be found here:

When you install the CD-IU230V, you will also need to go into your AV settings and change AV1 to "ipod" instead of "off."

HI,

I know it means "electrical or mechanical problem" according to the manual. You probably are not able to read or even eject a CD. There is no solution offerred, so you will have to get professional help.

I will suggest first contacting Pioneer at www.pioneerelectronics.com, email or call tech support. Read the online user manual also if you don't have one. They might refer you to a local repair shop, and you can always try to get help from whoever installs the unit for you or you have bought it from.

Sorry that I won't have further knowledge on this. My instinct will be to disconnect the power completely and see if it resets.

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to rate or accept the solution

The Avic F700BT does not have a DVD player, it only has a CD player. If you want DVD capabilities you need the Avic F900BT.

Try resetting your Ipod. I had the same problem with 3 different Pioneer head units. This solution worked just fine.

You also might not want to connect or disconnect the Ipod when the head unit is on.

Bluetooth wont stay connected

You might try the security settings on the phone or the bluetooth settings. You may have set the phone to "always allow" connection the the BMW, but haven't done the same thing for the 350Z. You are keying in the security code for the Pioneer (set to "1111" from the factory) on your phone, right?

Pioneer AVIC-F900BT bluetooth connection problem.

have you upgraded the firmware on this unit ?
his firmware update (version 2.0) contains important performance improvements relating to, among other things, boot-up time, Bluetooth connectivity (including certain Blackberry models), iPod Touch (v2.0) compatibility, touch screen response, display brightness, and SD and USB media playback.

Ipod connection

As far as iPod connections - they will work with a regular iPod and an iPod Nano. You have two options depending on how much you want to spend and how much convenience you want.

Option 1 - Use a Pioneer CD-IB100 adapter. This will plug into the docking port on the bottom of the IPod, charge it, offer control and song information on the head unit. You need to use this one and not the newer CD-I200 cable because your head unit is not compatible with the newer piece.

Option 2 - Use a Pioneer CD-RB10 adapter and a 3.5mm to RCA cable that will plug into the headphone jack of the iPod. You will only get audio input to the head unit but this option is somewhat cheaper.

As far as the clock settings - hold the 'source' button to shut the unit off(key still has to be on). Push the 'function' button until options appear - you can switch between options by repeatedly pushing the 'function' button and adjust settings by using the up/down/left/right arrows.
