Question about Bowflex Treadmill Series 7
I have a freesprit treadmill that is about 8 years old. It has has started to speed up ans slow down and even stop. There is no pattern. The console stays alive but resets itself. After it has stopped I can restart it again.
Hey there Ian,
If your treadmill has an optical speed sensor and hasn't been cleaned for a while, dust, dirt or lint may be obstructing the infared eye of the speed sensor. Try cleaning the treadmill.
Or maybe you need to replace the upper display, although, you may have a loose wiring harness that would cause the same problems. Open the motor case and verify the wiring harness is plugged into the lower board snugly. Also, remove the upper console and verify the harness is plugged into the back of the console snugly as well.
The only other thing I can think of is that maybe the Invisible Man has been squatting in your house and is training for the Marathon :)
Definitely, inspect the components and try and isolate the source of the problem yourself first, before contacting a dealer for parts, as they can cost a fortune..
