Question about Panasonic PT-AE700U Multimedia Projector

Open Question

Projector color fluctuations

The color on my projector fluctuates between good color, and everything is either pinkish or greenish (I believe that indicates that the "blue" is fading out. The fluctuations last about a minute or two each, so it oscillates slowly.

was this bought new or second hand?
There is a "Lamp Time" setting that can be accessd using your remote control, check this setting.
Look on page 40 and after that of your manual about ambient temperature bulb failure.

By powering off or hittign the reset button the bulb should stay on IF the projector is gettign a signal from a device to show an image. If the projector is not hooked up to a device, laptop, TV, etc. the bulb may turn off to save hours of operation.

SOURCE: The other day my projector was flickering very

Just check whether the cooling fan cuns or not. If it runs while switch ON, and the fault you indicated prevails; there are two possibilities for this fault. The first one of amp itself. The second one is with lamp balast. If lamp ballast coil has any shorted winding [even a single windig short]; will provide a great load to the power supply section, and the overcurrent protection circuit on board will detect it; finally it will shut down the shole system. There is an other proceeding; 'lamp reset'; but it could only be done after the projector had switeched on and produce screen; because it is a menu adjustment.
As your complaint it must be of lamp ballast fault itself. Replace the ballast board and check. OK

Lv 7365 projector color is all pinkish. Lamp hours used only 200. Is there a way to fix the problem? There are no warning or lamp lights flashing.

is the pinkish there when the mebu is showing. is the menu colours OK.
if not then an organic polarizer plate is most likely the problem due to overheating with age

No power on light

That's interesting.. After researching that model I can tell you that it has an intergrated internal power supply(transformer) which does contain a fuse. It is located where your power cord plugs into, inside the unit, start with that. Was it plugged into a surge protector? When you had the power failure the second time was there a fluctuation of power, ie your lights in your house flickering on or off or increasing, decreasing in brightness? This will help me determine if it's something else. Also be sure to check your power cord, look for any kinks, breaks, chips in insulation. Anyway Good Luck

Due to voltage fluctuation fumes come out from the projector what might have happened? and what would be the repairing cost?

you fried the power supply board and/or the ballast. you'll spend more on the labor than the part itself, and toshiba won't sell the parts. you'll have to send it in to them.

The tint changes colors, green to red to blue, etc. while it is on. What's wrong?

you have a problem with the main controller board. unfortunately, there are no replacements from infocus. sorry.

but try to clean and resolder the edge connector (looks like silver fingers) contacts on the power supply where it plugs into the green plug on the main board. the main board may be getting fluctuations in voltage due to poor contacts.

Sony SXRD has a greenish tint on everything.

I believe it is called the "light engine" is going bad. The Sony SXRD is NOTORIOUS for this going bad. So much so that there was a class action lawsuit that extended the warranty. My 50" SXRD went bad after 12 months. Because of the class action lawsuit, it was basically fixed for free.

Problem with color shift

Hi there

This might be a faulty Mainboard - that will need repair or replacement - and is quite expensive.

First check by using another cable , if the problem still occurs then the above will most probably apply.

Dwin lamp turns off

I design and implement switching power supplies for the commercial lighting industry. I also own a DWiN Transvision and have opened it and worked on it several times. I believe I can answer this question.

The DWIN projectors use a proprietary switching power supply to strike the lamp and keep it burning. The power supply is extremely sophisticated and maintains tight voltage and current tolerances. This is important because the halides in the lamp are damaged by power supply fluctuations. The halides can often be seen in an unfired lamp, they appear as small specks of dirt or tiny beads inside the lamp envelope. When a metal halide lamp is struck, the halides (which are rare earth elements) vaporize and cling to the inner wall of the lamp envelope. The mixture of halide gas in the lamp is what determines the color temperature of the lamp, as well as the accuracy of the lamp across the entire color spectrum.

One of the ways that DWIN is able to deliver such great color is because they use a lamp which delivers this great color across the spectrum, but, as I pointed out earlier, can be damaged by fluctuations.

The power supply contains three switching sections and five references for such things as input and output voltage for each psu section, as well as overcurrent demands from the lamp.

From my experience, your lamp(s) are all exhibiting issues that require replacement.
