SOURCE: NEtgear RP614 cannot connect after a electricity shortage in our home :(
I want to say thank you to Tom Smith. My problem was basically that at some point in the morning (while I was online) the power went out and it even seemed to kill my power surge power bar. This has never happened before even though I've had several losses in power. After messing with cycling, resetting, replugging, I found that my Netgear Router would acknowledge internet connection, power LED on, but the wireless light would not stay lit after the test.
Thank god for google. I found this website and tried this solution and after a little difficulty, it worked.
Please note, that after you hit the reset, you might want to shut everything down, and turn everything on/reconnect per Netgear's advised order (1) cable internet box, wait 2 minutes (2) router, wait 1 minute, and (3) your computer.
After I did this, I had to redo all the initial settings and reset up my wireless but I'm no longer stuck to my cable!

Reset the router to factory default. Usually done by unplugging the router hold in the reset button and plug in the router wait 30 sec. release reset button Wait 30 more sec. and unplug router again. Then reset your computer to obtain ip address automatically in network properties. Next shut down your computer, router and modem. First re-power the modem, give it time to boot (about 2 to 3 Min. for Cable and dsl or 7 to 10 min for satellite), next re-power the router, again give it time to acquire it's info (about 2 min.) then start your computer and try to access the Internet, all should be well...
Good luck, and have a great day...
