Question about D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G710 Wireless Range Extender

DWL-G710 keeps disconnection from router

Hi,
I am using the D-Link DWL-G710 for quiet a while now, and everything was working just fine. But somehow for now appearent reason the repeater does not connect to the router anymore. Even if they are just inches appart and no encryption is enabled.
I do not think this is a setup issue, since it was working before. There is no later firmware available and I realy dont know what to do.
Is there any help/hint/tipp/link/anything?
I'd very much appreciate it!!

If you are still able to access the GUI of the range extender that should still be fine, have you tried to reconfigure the wireless settings of the router and the range extender like channel, ssid and enable the encryption.

Try to configure your new router and you have to reconfigure the Range extender to tally with the new router. The IP Address that the range extender should have should depend on the DHCP server of your router that provides the IP Address.

DWL-G710 won't connect to 192.168.0.30

Here is a link to the manual for your DWL-G710.
D-Link manual on page 13 it lists the url entry should be
"http://192.168.0.30" This is a HTTP link not a HTTPS.
Also the address you typed in might be a typo. The IP address should be 192.168.0.30 not 192.168.0.30.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Can't access the internet. No problem with the static IP address and setting up the DWL G710. Searched and found 2 AP's for my wireless account. Selected one and saved. Got indication that DWL G710 was...

Is there any particular reason you're using a static IP? Most routers are set up already for DHCP.

If you need to use a static IP, make sure you have the right settings for the default gateway and DNS servers (you'll have to contact your ISP to find out the addresses for the DNS servers).

I would recommend switching to DHCP though, and you won't have to worry about such settings.

No internet connection via DWL-G710

Your extender may not be able to talk to the router. Make sure you have set default gateway in extender to IP of the router. Turn off encryption first. Check the router if extender shows up in active client list or active mac address list.

hi, i think there is no chance to make an AP from range extender because it is ONLY RANGE EXTENDER so you need another device to work as AP.

make sure the SSID, channel & wireless key on router & all extenders are the same, also the default gateway on the extender has to be the IP address of the router.

when using the AP you have to make sure you set the SSID, channel & wireless key in the AP the exact same as the router and make sure when configuring the Ap that you set the default gateway as the IP address of the router.

the IP address must be different on the router & extender but use the same subnet mast. The extender has to have the gateway set as the IP address on the router.

Are you using the correct cable type. If it is a CAT5 type cable it could be you are using a patch cable rather than a straight through type or vise versa.

Move the repeater directly next to the router, connect to the repeater with a laptop/desktop and enter the configuration utility, see if you are even able to establish a "signal" status. If not, you may have a defective product or extreme amounts of emi.
