Question about Intel Desktop Board D845WN Motherboard

MY Intel mother board D845WN can't boot

When i switch it on the power goes to the mother board fun for the processor will be on but can not bring the BIOS led lights will be on but not the green one

    Have you tried temporarily replacing the power-supply?



    Disconnect the power to the hard-drive, the floppy-drive, and the CD-drive, and then restart, to see if there was any interference

    from any of these devices.

    are you saying, hdd,cd/dvd spinning , cpu fan working, but no screen display ??

Try swapping those three connector plugs around from the front panel led lights to the other pins on the 9 pins connector, 5 in a row and 4 pins at the bottom. The bigger plug with 3 holes but only two wire will definitely go on the 5 pins row.

The pin layout look like this:

Connect: 1 and 3, 2 and 4, 5 and 7,6 and 8.
The 9 number is not in use.
Its also printed in on the mainboard with very small letters.

Got my D845WN mobo going again, however it didn't last. Now when I switch it on the psu fan twitches but doesn't go. Nothing else starts. If I disconnect the 12V supply connector for the processor the psu...


try replacing youre power supply, or if youany spare one use if the result is still the same then you have a motherboard problem, i also have the same problem with mobo, same thing, i already tried using a diff power but there still no boot or any beeping sound,

After installing my Intel D845WN m/board and connecting up the power supply with the ram, AGP card etc., the processor fan on top of the heat sink started running when I switched on the main power supply...


You probably have the case panel connections in the wrong places. Double check the board's manual and the connectors. Most case manufacturers have the connectors printed with their functions.

do u have pw switch on right pins power p start with red on that oen go over one to conect the black try both ways never up down on pins tho side to side only ok
