Trying to set up the new pdp-lx6090 with skyHD (with scart as no picture no sound) using HDMI Kef540 sound set (via HDMI lead).
The DVD player is the only thing working on both sound and picture (as part of the Kef system).
- no sound on sky but got picture when using scart
- no sound on terrestial via analogue.
- Current tv settings will not allow acess to HDMI control
- no sound or picture on sky when using hdmi

Re: new tv - no sound problems with hdmi leads
I'd recommend using component video and regular audio, as hdmi has these types of problems all the time. its usually an incompatability between devices and software upgrades may be needed on either end. contact your manufacturers if you want it fixes, or just bypass with the trustworthy older connections. if you want digital audio, run it straight to your stereo.. tvs have cheapo speakers anyways.

If you are not getting a tidy pic first thing I would check or change is scart lead make sure they are firmly in back of TV and your viewing box if so try another scart lead, the thicker the scart lead is the better they are apparently. Or if your using hdmi lead instead of scart try another hdmi port at back of TV as these ports tend to break easy in TV as they break off the mother board.
hi, how is it set up, are you using a scart lead or a hdmi lead if your using a scart lead you need to select av 1 or ext1 if your using hdmi lead you need to select hdmi 1, come back to me if your still having problems thanks.
just plug in the HDMI cable from what ever equipment your using, then switch it on, put the other end into the back of the tv, take out any scart cables you have plugged in, just for now. then find your AV source button on your remote, press it until it says HDMI. the chances are,if it flickers or wont show, then you'll need to hook up the external equipment by scart cable & go into the picture settings & change it to a lower rez. (The tv wont be the problem) i can't help you any more because you haven't said what it is your trying to do or hook up.....SKY BOX, DVD PLAYER, GAMES CONSOLE...e.t.c. Or what make of TV it is.....
all you need to do is plug the power in, put the scart lead into the back of your Pioneer tv, the other end of your scart into the bottom scart of your sky box named TV.
you will also need to connect the sky cable to the box to receive your signal. its a F type connector ie it screws on.
The other cable you have with the 6 push in coloured leads they are Component cable and the red and white ones are Audio cables. You will not need these cable unless your sky box is a HD box then i would suggest you get a HDMI cable instead of using component (less cables showing) dont be fooled into buying gold plated HDMI cables as they do not make any difference to the picture Quality as the back of the sky box is alley and so is the telly. So please dont waste your money on that type of cable.
1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect PS3 to TV HDMI input
3. select TV HDMI input for PS3
4. turn OFF PS3 if it is ON
5. Press and hold the [I/O]Power button until the PS3 until you get the "HDMI Detected" message.
Also, this TV has a circuit that deactivates the HDMI if the rear cover is removed. It is possible the HDMI may have been turned OFF. This is reset in the service menu of the TV.
