Check for something maybe jammed in the system and also try a cleaner disc to see if this helps the eye to read the disc and is this an after market changer or a standard accessory on the car when bought and if it is an aftermarket check to make sure it is hooked up correctly

Cd changer wont read cd's in my 03 xc90 volvo

They make a cd player cleaner you can buy about any audio store , I would give that a shot first. Looks like a cd with small brushes on it. The laser is probably dirty.

My 6 disc cd changer won't read cds

unplug the power to the cd player for about 10 minutes or so. usually that reqiures unhooking the car battery. if that radio is of the anti-theft variety make sure you know the code and how to enter it before you remove power

2003 ford taurus

check the fuse 1st, but chances are the changer is defective and will have to sent out, these changers are really prone to this problem. Even if the fuse is blown what made it blow? most likely a short in the changer.

CD changer reading "CD ERRor"

reset your radio by unplugging your battery for an hour and plug it in to see what happens. if not then time to replace. these cd players look nice and all cuz they are 6 disc but dont read mp3 well and get stuck easily with thicker cds

Cd changer wont work

First make sure you have not burned out a fuse, or the changer has not locked itself out. Are you sure the whole system is working at all? Some factory car audio equipment refuses to work after it has lost power, to foil thieves, and wants a code before it will work again. Read your manual and call the Ford dealer and ask about that.

If it is truly dead, you have two choices. Replace the stock unit or upgrade to something really nice (www.crutchfield.com)

The stock audio equipment is not very good and dies young. It's a source of extra profit for the car manufacturer. They install a low-end component with "Ford" written on it, and charge a hefty price for it in a new car. All the car companies do it.

If you go to the dealership and buy a new one, you will spend many $$ to get an equally poor quality replacement, but it will slide right in there with no work at all and you will be back in business.

You can also find a used one from a auto parts recycler, much cheaper than a brand new unit.
