Try to restore your computer to an earlier time where standby button is working, press start menu, click all programs, click accessories, click system tools and then system restore. see if it works, if not try to repair your windows using bootable xp cd

The graphic card usually crashes due to over heating. Keep the gpu cool. you may use a pedestal fan as well.

Can't return from standby mode. the vga, sound,

Turn Off the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10 key,ie: Alt+F10, it will open the recovery console ,select full factory restore and follow on screen instruction. (Note:this will erase all datas on the computer) or During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart

I unable to play a game because VGA compatible device not found in my computer & i want to install this. How can i install this explain it? & i am using XP

VGA compatible device not found represents that either your bios couldnt recognize the VGA hardware or your OS pnp service couldnt initialize the Hardware for VGA. Either these cases, we should look for the level of Hardware detection at which it fails. If its an onboard VGA device, you may need to replace it with an addon VGA card based on the Mother Board compatibility and then try install it again. This should solve the issue.

Good Luck.

I am using dell inspiron 1564 .now i cant even install a single game because of vga problem ... what shall i do now sir

As you are using dell inspiron 1564 it comes with a atleast 512mb graphics card by default. If you are not able to play games on it due to Vga problem first check you install the proper vga display drivers for the laptop or try to reinstall the vga display driver again from the drivers disk you get with the laptop. After installation of proper vga drivers all your games will work perfectly.

S3 graphics twisterK

To make a long story short, the answer is no. Games that require 64mb VGA won't work with your hardware. drivers or software won't fix that only a hardware upgrade will do it. Plus s3 brand cards are notorious for bad driver support.

It all depends what kind of games you wish to play, you can probably play all the older games like Quake or Half-Life or older than 1997 just fine on your system with that video card. But you won't be able to play almost any of the newer 3d games out there. If you want to play new games like Battlefield 2 for example, you would at least need a new Nvidia or ATI brand video card on a brand new computer.
