Question about Toshiba Satellite P15-S470 (PSP10U-0GGPGR) PC Notebook (PSP10U0GGPGRPSP10U0GGPGR) PC Desktop
First and foremost: the computer came with Vista installed. I would go through the process of creating the backup software disks for Vista for this machine before wiping Vista off in case you ever need to install vista back on the machine.
Next, as the XP installation will detect the existing Vista installation, it will not allow for you to install so long as Vista is there. You will have to use the option in the installer to format the entire C:\ partition of the hard drive. (you may prefer to erase the entire drive if you did create the backup disks I mentioned earlier) Then reboot and proceed with the install in the new free space.
If you find my suggestions to be helpful, please share with us some details so that others may benefit from knowing the whole story. Thank you!
