New legislation just came out in Ontario, Canada that bans an employer to ask for sick notes, and doctors can refuse to write them. If the company has a policy to have them, then the company must pay for them direct. The legislation also allows you 10 sickness and 'emergency days', and two must be fully paid by your employer. This legislation will grow further afield.
