Go to cmos , press DEL key to enter cmos, look for the "integrated peripherals" menu, find the onboard sound and make sure it is enabled, press ESC to navigate away from the page, them save and exit to store the settings, restart then load the sound drivers from the cd that came with the motherboard.

I m not able to hear the sound after shifting my computer with asus a8v-mx mother board then installed the o s again with real tek audio software

start with the obvious - your connections in the right holes - ie: green/black etc correct configuration to speakers
does your pc recognise an installed audio card ?
sound muted ?

Always visit the manufacturers website for the latest audio drivers for your OS ie:XP/Vista/Win7

New ASUS A8V-MX motherboard will not boot to CD or HD with XP

The first thing is to make sure that your CD/DVD drive has the windows disk in it. Also check drive C which is where the windows will be installed. It may require that it is hard formated. Hard formatted means "format x /u" [format-space-drive to be formatted-space-right slash-u]. This will place the drive for "windows xp sp2", all of it, to one pass of zeroes. So, once we have a clean drive C and the installation disc is inserted into the CD/DVD drive, you may proceed to install. You will need to find "install" or "setup" and start it on he "RUN" mode. For ASUS A8V-MX Motherboard which graphics card should use

This Motherboard has onboard VGA, but if you want to upgrade the expansion slot is a AGP. so you will have to purchase a AGP VGA card. ATi or Nvidia would be good enough.

Processor for P5VDC-MX

Hey there alcouto, your motherboard supports Intel Celeron, Intel Pentium 4, and Intel Pentium D processors. The socket set is LGA775. The FSB should be no higher than 800Mhz. It appears you have purchased the wrong CPU for your board. I hope the rest of the info helps you on your next purchase. Good Luck!
