OK, so I have an iPod, and I've dropped it a lot, and it's 3 years old. So it's pretty much no good anymore. Well for Christmas (today) I got a SanDisk Sansa e260 (4GB) MP3. And I have music from the iTunes store, and videos from the iTunes store that I would like to put on it, but I have no idea how to put them on?! It's kind of important because my parents won't buy me the CD's that some of the music comes from, because they don't like the CD, or the Movie the soundtrack came from. For one instance, I have "Chase the Morning" from "REPO! The Genetic Opera'', and my parents hate the whole concept of the movie, and one won't let me see it, two won't buy the soundtrack. So I had to rely on iTunes to get the one song I wanted. Can someone help me with this? I have a backup plan, but it might not work. Thanks anyways, Attesula

An iPod can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. once you got a new iTunes library or a new computer. You have to authorize your iPod to it at first, then you can upload music and video from the new iTunes to your iPod. But this way will overwrite the originial files on iPod with the new iTunes. You may try this iPod transfer, it can help you copy files from iPod to computer for backup, you can also use it as an iTunes alternative to upload music and video. It will not erase your original iPod files. It's safe and works pretty well for me.

The first thing that you should do is download itunes from the apple website at www.apple.com/itunes once installed open up itunes and then plug in the supplied usb cable into the ipod and the other end into your computer. From itunes you can then go onto the apple store and buy music from the store or if you have music on CDs you can use itunes to pull the CDs onto your computer and from itunes and clicking on the devices section you can transfer the music onto your ipod. Hope this helps.
1. Reset or restore your iPod for a try, this can fix many general iPod problems.
2. You may try this iTunes alternative, I always use it to upload music and video to my iPod once my iTunes can't recognize my iPod, my friends recommend it to me, it's safe and works pretty well, you can also use it to copy music and video from ipod to computer for backup, it's useful when you lost your iTunes library.
3. Upgrade or re-install iTunes for a try, this is the method that I got from Apple technical support. Hope it helps. Contact me if you have any other question.
Being an Apple product, the only way to upload music onto your ipod is exclusively through Apple's software: iTunes. Go to www.apple.com, and download and install iTunes. After this, upload your music into the iTunes library. Then, click and drag the songs you want onto your ipod in the right hand side of itunes.
For one you can't download music from the computer to you iPod, that would be the other way around, You Upload music to your iPod,
In order to upload music to you iPod here are a few easy steps.
1. You can't use iPods like MP3 players e.g. drag and drop MP3 files into the drive.
2. In order to upload music to your iPod you will need to download iTunes on the Apple website.
3. When you have installed and opened iTunes the iPod will be recognized and put onto iTunes in the left sidebar.
4. Now all you need to do is put music onto iTunes and drag and drop the music in iTunes to the iPod column on the sidebar and it will sync and install the music.
Hope i have been of any help
maybe you can try reformatting the ipod so that all the songs will be removed... try also to click on "music" when you connect to your pc, highlight the songs you don't like anymore and right click then choose delete... it works with my ipod :)
first the easy part....1800 songs we will not move this one at a time..............plug ipod to pc..open itunes....see on left hand side of screen...pc (music, photo & video folders) and under that ipod (music, photo, video folders)..ok..click on pc (music folder) all your music shows up right ok..this time click & drag the pc (music) down to the ipod music folder and release....its 1800 songs so lets wait til the ipod is finish (look at the ipod file a circular motion is happening,,,,its loading).......once finish always eject your ipod...............now find where you are storing mp3 / mp4 on your pc...once you find it ..go to top bar view then click,on view details (artist, album, type, lenght) this where it will say mp3/4/wma/wav or flac file
are you trying to copy music onto a cd disk or onto your ipod. If you are trying to copy music onto your ipod, you will have to clear the ipod of the music that was loaded onto it previously, because it will not detect your new settings on your laptop. An easy way to do this is copy over your itunes music folder onto cd/dvd from your old computer and paste the music into your itunes music folder on your laptop. When you open itunes go to file, import file, and choose your itunes music folder. (If it hasn't aready automatically picked the music up). This will put all of your music back into the itunes library. You will then need to create another playlist for your ipod. Reset your ipod in itunes mode and upload your new playlist onto it. If you have vista on your laptop then you may need to download the lastest version of itunes. You can do that by going here> http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
I hope this helps
