Wont boot packard bell easynote, on plugging in a/c adaptor green light on adaptor starts blinking

Is it still under warranty?

When the laptop boots up, go to Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore - click on "restore My Computer to ab earlier time" and click on a date you wish to restore from (before your problem occured).

1 Turn the EasyNote notebook computer on, and allow the operating system to boot up completely.
2 Click the "Start" menu button. Choose "All Programs" followed by "Accessories," "System Tools" and "System Information."
3 Click the "System Summary" option in the left pane of the "System Information" window.
4 Locate the "System Model" entry in the right pane. Directly to the right of this text, in the "Value" column, is the model number for your EasyNote notebook computer.

Is these the specification for your laptop? or similar?

the short cable running from the power button to the main board has probably snapped where it passes over the RH hinge. remove the screen surround to gain access to the power on switch area and check. it would seem to be a common fault with the packard bell

I have _exactly_ the same problem, my Packard Bell SJ51 notebook is also 2 years old.

Just check the Battery diagnostics if you have the software installed...If it is there then it will be in Start - Help & Support - Troubleshotting Tools - Battery Check.......If it shows the battery needs to be replaced contact Packard Bell...Since you told me that the A/C Adapter is not functioning and after you wiggled the lead it started functioning then if the battery test passes you will have to ask for a new A/C Adapter...

it is not charged or its battery has a loose connection

try press f5 when system is starting up then go safe mode, then try to restore your system to earlier setting with system restore. system restore is located on start/accesories/systemtools/system restore.
