That's because Apple is screwing you. They "modified" the software so that you can't play videos without buying yet another "aftermarket" piece of equipment... i.e. an expensive cord.

See this from the Sonic site.

When i played a video from my ipod while it is dock on the zeppelin, the video is stuck but i can still hear the sound coming form the zeppelin. why is this happening?? please and thank you =)

it is either your ipod video output, or the video output connection on the back. i would try a different pod, if that fails as well then send it back for repair.

I have a Sonic Impact V55 Video player and a new 160GB Ipod. Anyway to get the video to work on it?

Absolutely, I have this myself. My 5th Gen works great, but the 160GB would not show movies, just played music. Apple has an adapter cable set that allows you to hook your Ipod to your TV. $50 buy it! You can charge and watch your stuff on your flat screen. It also unlocks your Ipod TV out setting for your Video 55. Set you IPOD video setting to TV Out: on, select your movie and play. Plug in the IPOD nip to your Ipod then set your Ipod into the Video 55. A bit of a pain but works flawlessly. If you select a different movie you have to do this all over again.

IPod Classic won't play video with AV Component Cable

I have the exact same problem, having previously tried the component cables. I called tech support who stated that my ipod classic must have some sort of hardware malfunction when otherwise fully functional. I can get sound through the RCA cables, but no video. What gives?

My Video 55 player will not play my videos

You need to switch the video out seeting on the iPod, simple. It is located in Video/video settings/TV Out. Change the setting to "On". Problem solved. However, if you have an iPod that is less than 1 year old, nothing will work, iPod blocked this ability to change to "On" and is set on "Off" permanently.

Playing a video??

Try this if you haven't already. On your iPod select Videos then Video Settings and see what option is selected for TV Out. There are 3 settings On / Off / Ask. If it is OFF click the center button to change to ON or ASK and try to play your video file again. If that does not work take a look at this web site for Sonic Impact. It has a message about changes to iPod software.
