Do you mean your system does not pass the validation test when you try to use the Windows update feature, or you don't have enough memory to install Windows?

My system keep saying sortwarecounterfeiting

Hi Friend,

You receive this errr message because you have not installed genuine microsoft operating system. While updating the operating system, the security patches gets updated and microsoft matches the key used by. It finds the key provided by you is not a genuine one and it termed it as software counterfeit.

Either you can install genuine microsoft product or you can visit www.microsoft.com and download a tool Genuine Advantage Validation tool and isntall it on your system. You will not get any software counterfeit issue.

You may be a victim of software counterfeiting. ask for genuine

This error message will come if you are using pirated copy of ur windows operating system. There are some registry files and patches available online to remove this message. Try using that but i would rather recommend you to go for genuine products to avoid such problems in future.

You may be a victim of software counterfeiting, solve this plz?

You must buy a licence. your software is NOT bought from Microsoft. Or get a crack, or activation patch, or valid product key.

I can't end wgatray.exe by task manager nor delete it by using shift+delete havig said I 've already opened C:windowssystem32wgatray.exe.

wgatray.exe runs in the background to validate your Genuine Windows XP software against a list of serial numbers that are blacklisted by Microsoft.

If your system is running pirated XP, the wgatray process will show a pop-up warning - "This copy of Windows XP is not genuine" - this is no error or virus, its a reminder from Microsoft to go original.

Though you can temporarily disable Windows Genuine Advantage notifications by removing wgatray.exe or wgalogon, this is never recommended since you will not be able to download important security updates and patches from Microsoft Updates website.

If you are running a counterfeit or illegal version of Windows XP, rather than hunting for a wga workaround, just get the authentic GGK kit from Microsoft to convert your pirated XP into Genuine software by changing the XP product key - completely legit way to make Windows genuine and you need not reinstall your Windows XP.

The WGA patch is installed if the user has opted to automatically update Windows via the Windows Update Website or if a XP users manually downloads the latest Windows updates.

What is the solution if there is a word ''you may be a victim of software counterfeiting'' which appear on the right bottom corner of my monitor?

There are two solutions.

Buy a genuine windows CD, or get a windows genuine validation patch.

Once you done either of the above, you will never be prompted for validation, and you can use many more utility and software's which are only for genuine window users.

Cheers

Getting nonerasable warning from Microsoft!!!!!!!

Hi,

You seem to be a victim to piracy from your local vendor. You can report him to Microsoft and receive a finder’s fee, which isn’t going to cover the cost of new Windows XP. So here are some alternatives.
With new release of WGA, some methods no longer works, and some has been updated. Several methods that has certain success on certain people, you may try until you success.
Official Method by Microsoft - more information here. http://www.mydigitallife.info/2006/06/28/official-ways-to-disable-or-manually-uninstall-the-microsoft-windows-genuine-advantage-notifications-from-microsoft/

or:
First Method
  1. Lauch Windows Task Manager.
  2. End wgatray.exe process in Task Manager.
  3. Restart Windows XP in Safe Mode.
  4. Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\Windows\System32.
  5. Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\Windows\System32\dllcache.
  6. Lauch RegEdit.
  7. Browse to the following location:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\
    Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify
  8. Delete the folder ‘WgaLogon’ and all its contents
  9. Reboot Windows XP.
Note: With this method, you may be prompted to install WGA Notifications again which can still be unselected.

Second Method

Another alternative is by using System Restore to restore the PC to a previous restore point that WGA Notifications hasn’t kicked in, and then carefully stop KB905474 from been applied to the system. To use System Restore, go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore.
Note: Again, you may be prompted again to install WGA Notification, so it must be bypassed.

Third Method updated
This method involves using a cracked version of LegitCheckControl.dll to replace the original copy of LegitCheckControl.dll, and thus bypass the WGA validation and make Microsoft believes that your copy of Windows is genuine. To get rid of WGA Notifications warning messages, the patched version of WgaLogon.dll and WgaTray.exe to replace the existing files.
To apply the patch by replacing the files manually, try to end the respective processes in the Task Manager before deleting the existing files. Most likely is you will have to restart your PC in Safe Mode in order to replacing the original copy of LegitCheckControl.dll and related files. However, there has been automatic updater and even cracked WGA installer that automatically apply the patched version of WGA files.

Latest Update for WGA version 1.5.554.0 latest
Download http://www.mydigitallife.info/2006/10/08/crack-and-patch-to-bypass-and-disable-wga-genuine-windows-validation-and-notifications-version-155540/ of Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool and WGA Notifications.

In the short of it, sometimes it worth to just get a legitimate copy so your problem will go away. Unfortunetely being the victim really sucks, because this will for every be a problem if you do any updating of MS software. If you look around (eBay etc) you may find some pretty good deals on Windows XP.

My best of luck to you.

Software

If you're just offering web surfing, why not use Linux with Firefox rather than paying for Windows.

I dont class myself as a Linux expert but its far more secure than Windows as well as free.

Also keep in mind that if they're using pirate versions of Windows they will not be getting updates and thier PC's will be less secure. Use that in your advertising that your PC's are regulary updated with security patches.

Hope this helps.
