They say I have to wait for the CD to come in the mail to update firmware from 1.00 to 3.02. Anyone know where this is online instead of waiting for sony's cd?

I upgraded to software Rel 3.02 from 3. The unit hasn't worked since. I have spent hours with help desk doing and redoing and experimenting. I haven't seen this officailly and Sony won't enlighten me, But, if you have map data 2007a it isn't compatible with 3.02. Release 1 and 2 have 2007a and the new map data is in giga bytes. Because of the size it isn't practical for download so they have to send a CD or DVD. The release 3 units were to have map data 2007b so all you have to download is the software to 3.02. My unit came with 3.0 and map data 2007a, so I shot myself in the foot by upgrading to 3.02 leaving no way to update my map data. This is only my oppinion and I have opinions about stuff that I haven't even thought of yet. If you go to the SONY Canada Site you can see information mentioning 2007a and 2007b and you can order a CD/DVD. I don't know if you will get it or if it will work because it is supposed to update Release 1 and 2. My last comment: the SONY support Help Desk is sorry as can be on this issue. I was on the phone for 5 hours, off and on at 1-800-222-7669 and they denied that there is more than 2007a even though I could see both in the documents on the SONY Canada Site..NV-U73T

1. Download the SONYNAVU_U73T_3.2.CN.BIN file to a temporary or download
directory. 2. Connect your nav-u personal navigation device to the
computer using the supplied USB cable. 3. Power on your nav-u
personal navigation device and wait until the "Connect to PC" message is
displayed on the nav-u screen. 4. Start the nav-u Tool software on
the computer. 5. At the "nav-u tool" window, click "Upgrade System". 6.
On the right side of the Upgrade Screen, verify that the target version
is 3.00. 7. On the left side of the Upgrade Screen, click the
"Browse" button, and go to the directory where the
SONYNAVU_U73T_3.2.CN.BIN file was downloaded and then click "OK". 8.
In the "Name" box, click to select "3.02 cn NV-U73T" update, and then
click the button. 9. After the update file is transferred to the
nav-u device a "Transferring Upgrade file completed." message is
displayed on the computer. 10. After the system software update is
complete, the nav-u device will automatically shut down and restart.
I had the same problem. "Invalid Map Code", etc. I went to archos.com/gps_install, and followed the directions. I had to update my 605 wifi firmware. Once I did that, I entered my map code and map version (found the version on a .txt file on the dvd, forget which one), and followed the directions from there. Seems to be working so far, although I haven't actually taken it on the road yet (can't seem to get a GPS signal in my garage).
