I have the same problem with my P-R406A-EN-C, I had the valve replaced and they installed a new model switch and I get teh same problems. It is intermittant, sometimes running for hours, sometimes runing for ten minutes. This is pointing to the controller or other fault, not the fault of the valve itself. It is during the beginning of heat up going from 70 degrees to 100 that the error code happens, but there should be no need for the controller to shut it off during that time.....mybe the controller has a bad circuit and replacing the PCB with a later revision will fix this. Has anyone contacted the manufacturer directly with this problem yet?

I also have the same problem with Raypak that I have been chasing for more than three years. My pool company has tried everything but has never resolved the problem. I just opened my pool for the season and the same problem exists. Any help would be appreciated.

Wow, I have the identical problem which began after 3 seasons of great operation with the Raypak pool heater.  The concept of chlorine backing into the heater sounds reasonable since all other checks have failed.  I am going to turn off the automatic chlorinator and put tabs in the skimmers (the wrong thing to do for chlorinating I am told).  I will then report back on whether this works since my wife will not go in the pool unless I can get it to 85!

do you have a chlorinator? if so, it must be after the gas heater also with a non return valve installed. chlorine might be going back into heater and causing errors

SOURCE: pool heater wont fire up

Its just after 1 am here as well, Ontario Canada. Yes, you have to remove the front lower panel by raising it then pulling out at the bottom. Then compare the valve you have with the 2 in the picture on pg 5. If it is easier, you can have your husband call me while doing this and I can talk him through it. My contact information is located on the main page of my company website

SOURCE: I have a Raypak pool heater the pilot will lite but the unit will

My Rapak gas pool heater burner will not ignite. I changed the flame sensor and then the main gas valve (on a recommendation of a heating contracter) and after spending almost $300 on parts, I may have not needed, it still will not ignite. The water temp has been around 80 using the solar cover but now with the air temp in the 50's at night and only in the 70's in the day the water is a brisk 70 degrees. We would like run the heater now, so we can use the pool for a bit longer this fall.
Any ideas? Some people told me there is a valve that senses the proper amount of water is flowing around the boiler so it doesn't burn up, is this possiblely the problem that the valve is not opening?

Raypak 2100 265A displays GVO. I know it means Gas Valve Open, but I do not know what is wrong. It is a IID Electronic Pilot. I see a slight flame when the igniter lights and then the system goes into GVO...

Here is the directions from raypak on this code.

1. Turn off power and disconnect ignition wire and gas valve wires from cpu board.
2. Turn on the power and watch for spark at module.
3. If no spark is observed, turn off power and replace the board.
4. If spark is observed, turn off power and reconnect gas valve and ignition wire.
5. Turn on power and unit should fire.
if unit does not fire and code reappears, turn off power and disconnect gas valve wires from the board and remove MV,PV and ground wires from the gas valve. Clean and reconnect wires.
7.Plug the gas valve back into the board and torn power on. Unit should fire.
8. If the unit fails to fire, Replace the gas valve.

Its not a good code to get. Hope this helps

Have an error code GVP

You didn't indicate what model heater you have, but here are some of the fault codes you might see. Could it have been GVO? You can download a manual for your exact model at
BD1 Board failure
EEP Microprocessor error
FAN Blower pressure failure
FFL Flame sensing when pilot and gas
valves are closed
GVC Gas valve closed
GVO Gas valve open
HL1 High limit switch #1 open
HL2 High limit switch #2 open
IGN Ignition failure
ILO Ignition lockout - Propane units only
PRS Water pressure switch open
ROL Heat roll-out safety switch open
SNS Sensor failure, Water temp. below 36°F
or above 110°F
VNT Vent switch open
