1985 Porsche 944 vibration in engine

My 944 makes noise and vibrates from the engine. It starts fine but there is antifreeze in the oil. Thought it might be a blown head? It has spark and a compression of 135 PSI on all 4 cylinders. Could I have a blown gasket and still get good compression? Might it be a bad bearing on one of the balance shafts? PS The timing and balance shafts are set correctly.

Thanks, It was the oil cooler seal and the motor mount.

It is a common problem for the seals in the oil cooler to leak and allow water into the oil. I'd check this first, there should be a procedure online somewhere. Try googling "clarks garage"

The serpentine belt and power stering belt won't stay oon they come off as soon a you start the car, 1985 Porsche 944

while the belt is off, engine off, check for a frozen pulley-except for the crankshaft, one is probably locked up or makies a lot of noise/wobbles when turned by hand.. Also, look at the pulleys and see if they 'line up' by looking at them from the side.

Knocking noise Porsche 944

sounds like it could be "knocking from the cam". i would throw a thing of SeaFoam or Marvel Mystery Oil in the oil slot. my knocking went away in 100 miles. the stuff works wonders. Good luck. My knocking used to be very loud the higher the rpms.

Car wont start .

You will not be able to hear the fuel pump on that model. First you have to determine if you get fuel and have spark. If it is a fuel problem, replace the DME relay first. Very common. They act up and fail without warning. Part is cheap and located in the fuse box. Next would be the fuel pump.
If it is spark related it may be the Flywheel Reference Sensors. There are two and the cost about $100 each.

Good Luck.
