Question about Apple iPod MA446LL/A MP3 Player

Can't download ITunes

Everytime I try to download the ITunes software, i get about 15% through and it kicks me out of IE. I have tried restarting - I have Windows Vista. I am getting frustrated, I just want to put some music on my new Ipod!
Thanks in advance for the advice.

When it downloads it all looks normal, just stops partway through and kicks me back to the desktop. Though, I spent some time in the Apple Forums...someone suggested to uninstall Quicktime, which seems to be working so far.

    Thank you for responding.

try to uninstall all apple software from your computer

e.g. iTunes, Quicktime, bonjour etc.
delete temp files
click start > run > cmd > type "%temp%" without the double quotes
then select all files then delete all of them

restart the computer

try to download and install Itunes
if still doesnt work

download CCleaner to remove all traces of apple/itunes from your computer then restart and reinstall after restart.

You can download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from Microsoft, which will clean up any leftover installer files that may be causing issues with your current installation. To do this:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301

Click the "Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility package now" link

-Choose Start > All Programs and then click Windows Install Cleanup; the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.

-Select iTunes from the list and click Remove.
-Click OK in the confirmation dialog that appears.
- if it prompts to restart - choose restart later

-Repeat this step for removing these progrmas as well in order

QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)

-Click OK in the confirmation dialog that appears.

Click Exit.
Restart the computer.

Internet

To stop your PC from restarting whenever it encounters a fault: Click Start, Control Panel, open "System", then under the "Advanced" tab select "Settings" in the Startup and Recovery section and uncheck "Automatically restart" under "System Failure". Once that is done you can do a manual windows update and see if there are critical and IE (internet explorer) updates that may cure your internet connection problems. You may also want to run a full system virus scan in Safe Mode to eliminate any viral threats that may be causing the problem, as there are current trojans that are affecting IE and Firefox (probably others) Browsers.
I hope this helps.
