Question about Disney DDA8040 MP3 Player

Charging problem how do you charge the battery?

I am able to charge the mp3 with the USB to the computer but I can't connect it with the Disney Jam Stand (Docking Station sold separately). Does anyone know if there is a part that came with either the jam stand or the mix stick that extends the USB jack so that the connections reach eachother. I can get the docking station to play music, it just won't charge because that connection doesn't reach. thanks!

You must plug it into your computer USB port. Use your mini usb cord provided with your player. If you do not have it, you can purchase a wall charger in any electronics store. recommend, radioshack.

Battery not holding charge

If the rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.
