Series wiring of a 4 ohm DVC subwoofer will result in an 8 ohm load.
See the following diagram.
The diagram listed has a dual 2 ohm voicecoil, netting 4 ohm, however in your case, the dual 4 ohm sub will net an 8 ohm load.

How do I rewire the pots on my LTD AX-141 4 String bass guitar. Someone has messed up the wiring thank you

There are two sites I go to for most of my guitar/amp needs. Youtube and the second is StewMac.com and look in the Trade Secrets and How to section. It may not be the exact guitar/bass but it's a real good jumping off point.
I just opened a youtube site and searched "how to rewire a bass guitar" and received 8690 how-to videos.
Good luck on this project.

I have a budda superdrive 30 II amp and have a setting question. I made a 2-12 cabinet to hook to this amp. Each speaker is 4 ohms. They are wired to their own output jack. My amp has 2 outputs for...

You best rewire the cabinet to put the two speakers in series. Wire one speaker plus to minus of the other and bring the other lead, one from each speaker to your jack on the cabinet. The amp output impedance is what is set on the switch... for two 8 ohm speakers you would use both jacks to the two speakers BUT ssince you have 4 ohm speakers the ONLY option is for two in series and set the switch to 8 ohms. The amp is ONLY 30 Watts so don't expect too much sound output... You should get a nice CLEAN sound at a reasonable level. If you drive the amp too hard it will clip and you will get garbage.

I am going crazy trying to solve this problem with my jbl eon passive speakers which are about 10 years old. all of a sudden they sound like they have no bass and too much topp. i have to take the top...

Hopefully the bass control was turned way down. Check to see that it is where you want it ti be. Otherwise, it could be a component in your receiver that blew. Do you have a sub woofer connected to you unit? Or were you forcing bass thought your midrange speakers? JBL's are great speakers! I have them as well. Love them, best sound output next to Bose of course! But the Home Theter speaker are only mid range speakers. Check your bass speaker! It might be the problem. Check wires! Check connections! If still having problems, you might need to take it to a shop... Sorry I couldn't be any better help! Good luck Mad Maria.

What do the phase and cut off controls do,manual does not explain much.

Phase reverses the polarity of the driver so it can be matched to the other speakers and bass-reinforcement characteristics of its position in the room. You don't want the sub 'sucking in' while other speakers are 'pushing out' or a bass cancellation will occur.

Set it, listen to bass from your normal seating position, reverse it and observe if the bass gets subjectively better. Leave it in the 'better' position.

Cutoff is a variable for the highest frequency where the speaker 'cuts off'. You can experiment with adjusting it for what sounds to you like the smoothest transition betwen the sub and the othere speakers. You don't want a lot of audible overlap where the sub and other speakers are acting on the same frequencies. It may sound to bassy in that area.
