Make sure that you are using correct installation CD or clean your CD properly so that system read it correctly.

How to fix blue screen of death on a dell latitude d610

The causes are bad device driver, virus, windows files have been corrupted, or the hard drive has failed. The only option is attempt a complete recovery of your operational sytem with a fresh install of windows, If this fails have the hardware checked for possible replacement.

Unmountable boot volume blue screen for a laptop dell d610. How can i fix problem?

Just reinstall the operation system form scratch ...if this is not a physical issue ..this will fix the problem ..You will have to have a boo-table disk with the operation system ..and all the drivers saved for it from the Dell support site ...just in case you do not have them on disk ..
If you have a operation system recovery partition or disk ..you may use it too...but remember that some recovery disks do not contain the operation system bu just the specific programs and drivers for the brand and model ..and it is logical why I wold go for a boot-able disk with the operation system ..and a clean install by booting from disk ...and also formatting the hard disk C partition during the installation process ..This way you will end up with a clean install ..and you will need to install all drivers..and programs you usually use....but you will be sure that all bugs are gone and the issue will not appear again..
If this is not a software problem ...it can also be caused by the ram memory being corrupted or the hard disk being issued...cause the blue screen is usually a memory fault ..and do not point the issue exactly ...can be from a missing file which will not let windows to boot up proper..pr ..from a virus that will interfere ..or from a issued ram memory unit ..or a hard disk with BADs on it ..
If reinstalling will not fix the problem you will have to take in mind the other factors of physical nature..

My daughters computer is a dell latitude D610 notebook running Windows XP.....when powering up XP starts to load and then goes to a blank blue screen....Is there a restore disc or something i can download...

Hi. I provided you a link where to download the restore disk. Once you have downloaded the restore disk, here's the instruction on how to use the disk.

Instruction:

  • Backup all the data you want to keep on an external hard drive, flash drive, or rewritable CD. Resetting your Dell to factory defaults will erase all data currently on your computer.

  • 2

Insert the Recovery CD into your CD-ROM.

  • 3

    Reboot your computer.

  • 4

Watch the text in DOS carefully. When prompted to boot from your CD, do so.

  • 5

Choose System Restore and then follow the instructions presented. Once system recovery beings, it may take a few minutes. Once it's done, your system will reboot again.

  • 6

Remove the Recovery CD from your CD-ROM and store it carefully. Your system has been reset to the factory default.

My dell latitude d610 tries to load windows, but doesn't complete

The operating system may be corrupted and needs reinstalling or repairing. The manual is available online at dell website. But I doubt anything in the manual will help with this problem. Consult a PC Tech to help you rectify the problem. It cannnot be done through this forum.
