Troubleshooting my Lowrance LC X - 15MT Unit

I can't display any Navonics maps on my unit. When I go into Map Data, the section under Navonics Maps says "none" even when I load both chips. I can't find a "Use Navonics Maps" box to be checked on my unit. I know the maps are there as the files are shown when I go into the "Browse MMIC" command. I also know the chips are good as I have loaded them into another unit. What's happening?? Thanks for your help!

Re: Troubleshooting my Lowrance LC X - 15MT Unit

All of my lowrance products ar very particular to cards. Both my I-finder and my X-15MT would not read cards that other readers would read. I finally have three cards that work and guard them very carefully. PS. I found this via Lowrance troubleshooting and received great help from a tech there. You can check the cards before registering them by placing them in your unit and see if it shows the card present.

How do I get my lake map chip to come on

With your card in your unit follow these steps it should accomplish letting you view your map data.
push MENU twice
Highlight CHART push ENTER
Highlight CHART DATA push ENTER
Highlight LOWRANCE push ENTER.
You will note there is an option for Lowrance and Navionics, if you select Navionics you will see a distinct difference in the way the base map displays on your unit.
Hope this helps.

Navionics maps don't seem to work on my lowrance elite 5 chirp

In your menu under CHARTS there is a choice for either LOWRANCE or NAVIONICS. Select NAVIONICS and you should be able to see your chart maps.

How do I set position on my lowrance hdi 7

The GPS will automatically triangulate your position and display it on the map screen.
If you have your cursor turned on the the map screen will remain centered on the cursor.
while on the map screen push the Menu key and then the Enter key. If you notice the pop up window when you push menu you will see the first field highlighted will be to return to current position or something similar. By pushing enter you are selecting this option and the unit will display your current position on the map screen.

GARMIN 60CX Contour Map display: Sent maps to unit OK. Then was able to display a WayPoint with its contours. However... later, now able to display WayPoint but NOT surrounding contours. The Map IS...

The topo maps are low in the map hierarchy. If another mapset is loaded at the same time and is also checked it will likely "cover" topo. I think the Recreation maps are the only one's lower in the hierarchy.

Lcs-20c GPS slow with HotMaps Premium 09 card

Does the image come back by itself if you slow down or stop and wait? If not, make sure you are not leaving the coverage area of the chart you are set to. In the LCX-20, that Navionics chart is split up into several sections, if you have one section selected and are on the border and then leave that area, the map usually goes all white depending on your zoom level. If you are on a border like that you will have to learn to quickly switch the charts from the MAP DATA menu.

If the map does catch up when you slow or stop, and just can't redraw fast enough...

Make sure the LCX-20 has the latest updates which can be downloaded from
These updates often add additional Navionics support.

Most likely though, this is just going to be the way it is with that particular map and the LCX-20. If you zoom out it will be much much better. So if updating doesn't help, zoom out. Experiment to see how close you can be zoomed in while running above 20mph. If you can get a good zoom level to where the map can keep up and you can still see the information you need then you should be good to go. If not, use the LakeMaster card or go get a different mapping option...or upgrade your display unit.

Global map 5200c loading problems- navionics platinum hot maps

I had the same problem with my handheld Lowrance Hunt C. After installing the card and locking it in place, I had to slide the card "out" toward the locking mechanism. It barely moves, but worked after that. Whenever I load the card, I now slide it out and it works every time.
