Bucket cracked on 65 pint maytag dehumidifier, machine runs great

Hi sharilyn a20...
You will have to buy and install a new bucket for your humidifier..
You may get by with trying to seal the crack with a good grade of silicone sealant.
Please take time to rate me

I don't know how to change the bag for the machine, bag # SR 401010. Vaccum is Maytag Legacy series. Is there a diagram or picture to show how to replace the bag. Thanks

http://www.hoover.com/CustomerService/Manuals/Default.aspx Enter your model number on Hoover's website to view or print a manual. I suspect that you may have accidentally discarded the bag frame ( part # 93001544 ), which holds the bag in position.

Water leaks out of the clean water tank valve

This was a very common problem with the earlier tanks on this model. The newer tanks can be identified as a single clear plastic molding, and the older, defective tanks had a separate soap container glued to them, usually blue or green in color. If you look carefully, I think you will find the leak is due to cracks in the plastic beneath the valve. Purchasing a new tank should solve the problem. ( Part # 42272104 ). It is probably worth a call to Hoover, to try to get a new tank at no charge.

You can purchase a new tank if needed. No known way of fixing the cracked plastic.

Leaking problem

I had the same problem and it was a crack in the plastic near the small rubber valves that let the water out. After having two tanks crack like this I complained to Hoover about the poor design and they sent me a new tank with a new design fee of charge. Obviously they were aware of the problem.

Tank for Hoover SteamVac continuously cracking

I use shoe goo or similar product to glue the cracks together. I have fixed large holes this way and it works fine. It is best done when cracks first appear. If cracks are minor then super glue might also work but if it is major or there are holes then shoo goo does the trick and it is a permanent fix.
