Kenmore sidebyside Every few days I find a puddle of water in front of the fridge and both frezzer and fridge are warm. Food in the frezzer has begun to defrost. I turn the unit off, make sure all vents are clear and free for ventilation and turn the unit back on. It works fine for a couple of days somtimes even for about two weeks and when you least expect it that darn puddle again... I am ready to go out and purchase a new fridge, Kenmore Umm?..

Re: kenmore sidebyside

You are probably getting an ice build up on the evaporator and the drain also blocked with ice. take back cover off freezer and melt any ice off with careful use of a hairdryer. make sure the drain at the bottom of evaporator if free by pouring a little water down it. if blocked with ice, free with hot water and parience. if fault reoccurs, you have a fault on defrost system

Issue with Kenmore Refrigerator/Freezer

ok,1st check on fridge side toward upper back of the top and feel for air coming thru, and there is another one down possibly behind crisper .I had this same deal. Had to do total defrost,, put food in cooler,, theres two blower fans in these types of fridges,,one in the bottom back,, and one in the back of the frezzer,, I used an old hair dryer and let it blow warm to top interior of frezzer,, careful not to let any cords hang/drop in any water!!,ok once done dry out as much water as possible, turn fridge on set both controls to 4,when fridge kicks on do the feel test,, you may need to close the frezzer door, air should be felt near top inside of fridge,if so than shut fridge side and feel inside frezzer near bottom and air should be felt,, side-by-side need to circulate air from frezzer to fridge, then back to frezzer

I have a ffa90 futre fridge & bottom frezzer. the fridge is frezzing the food in the door & in the fridge. have tryed water in botles & they get ice on it .in the door the food frezzers so

Find where the supply air is coming into the fridge part. It comes from the freezer and could easily be supplying -18 air direct to the door. This would give you a 2 in the fridge but anything in the direct air path could freeze.

My Kenmore refrigerator is not cooling properly. Freezer portion works fine but not refrigerator. Came on suddenly.

I had the same problem. The frezzer worked but the fridge was not getting cold. What I have learned is that the frezzer make the fridge cold, so if the frezzer is working then something is blocking the cold air to get into the fridge. Most likely ice. The air come in at the bottom of the inside of the fridge next to the frezzer. Pull everything out of the frezzer, then unscrew the plannel that runs along the back and you see if there is ice. If so turn frezzer off and dry out the frezzer. I used hot water.

My frige stays warm all the time it is a Hotpoint

evaporator coils are iced up on the freezer side. either take everything out of the fridge and unplug it and let it sit for a day to defrost, or remove the inside rear panel where there is frost and (with the fridge off) use warm water sprayed on the ice to defrost it (or use a hair dryer, but just until the ice is melted. do not overheat the metal). soak up the excess water (underneath the fridge, too), and turn it on empty. let it run empty for a day to get it cold, then put the stuff back in. if the stuff is in there when it's warm, the humidity will ice up the coils again.

Refrigerator does not cool

If the refrigerator cooling is poor, it may be a problem with the thermostat, the compressor, or the evaporator fan. If ice is accumulating at the back of the fridge, that can also be a reason for poor cooling.

See aso the links below for a more detailed explanation:
