Viking VGIC3064BS top burner work but oven won't ignite

I have a new range and the top burners ignite fine, however, the oven tries to ignite but it seems it is not getting any gas (LP). The convection fans turn on and the lights work. Just no heating up.

Remember this: Crank down and flip. You must tighten down all the top and the oven valve orifices and open all the hutters and flip the nut on the regulator. crank down and flip.

Burners ignite but wont light

Are you on Natural Gas or LP?

If on LP, you may need to change the jets on the burners on top. Most times, when oven and broiler work and top doesn't, and you have spark, your jets are wrong size. Look on back of unit for a cardboard attached to unit, should have jets stuck to cardboard, if notgo to store where you bought unit and buy jets.

Swithed to LP

Natural Gas has a pressure at about 1/4oz psi. Propane runs at a much higher pressure 8 psi to 15 psi. For your safety do not use the oven until it is garenteed that the oven is rated for LP Gas!
Hope, this helps, Sea Breeze

Flames in oven are WAY too high! Having trouble lowering them.

Hi! melisrus
If you are using LP, even if you change the regulator settings from Natural Gas to LP Gas, the orifices all need to be changed. The Orifices should have come with the new unit, if not contact Hotpoint.
Make sure you order the instruruction manual and this is an Oven with Range Top, you will need orifices for all the burners on the range top.

Frigidaire convection free standing range

new ranges come set for natural gas. in the installation instuctions there should be instruction for converting the range to lp. some models require that the orafice for the burners be replaced as part of the coversion, if so the there should be a pack of them with the new range. others you just have to tighten the orafices that are all ready in the range. you installation guide will tell you which one you have to do

Did you change the orifice in the regulator? The orifice opening for LP is a different diameter than the opening for Natural Gas. If you've already attempted changing the settings from Natural to LP, you may want to double check the orifice under the regulator cap, may have a regulator problem. You will need to turn the gas off prior to attempting this. The regulator will be located in the back of the oven somewhere near where the gas line connects to the stove. There is a gas orifice that needs to be turned over to change gas settings. "LP" should be present if it is set correctly. Let me know if this helps.
